HS8A Bulletin

The HS8A and HS8W solenoid valves are heavy-duty, compact, and pilot-operated valves designed for refrigerant flow control, with improved resistance to dirt, erosion, and corrosion. They are suitable for various refrigerants including ammonia, R22, and CO2, and are commonly used in applications such as liquid line control and noncondensible gas purge points. The document includes specifications, installation instructions, and maintenance guidelines for these valves.

INTRODUCTION KEY FEATURES

This heavy-duty HS8 refrigeration solenoid valve
is compact and pilot-operated. It is now more dirt
resistant, erosion resistant, and corrosion resistant WATERTIGHT
than other similar refrigerant valves. A dirt ENCAPSULATED COIL
controlling Teflon piston seal helps prevent sticking.
The valve body has improved, erosion resistant flow
passages. The HS8 is used to provide on-off
control of refrigerant flow. When the coil is
energized, a pressure difference across the piston LARGE
opens the valve seat. When the coil is de- DIAMETER,
