AKSHARA AVISHKARA - COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
✓ Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB) has declared the year 2023-24 as
'Educational Year’.
✓ Mandatory earmarking of 25% of total grant under both MICRO and MACRO scheme for
'AKSHARA AVISHKARA’ program.
✓ In the year 2023-24, Rs. 45675.00 lakhs under MICRO scheme and Rs. 19575.00 lakhs under
MACRO scheme, a total of Rs. 65250.00 Lakhs has been earmarked from the total budgetary
allocation of KKRDB for education (25%).
✓ In Kalaburagi Division total of 8976 schools (RMSA schools including 9247 schools), In a
phased manner over a period of 5 years, the project aims to improve basic facilities in all
9247 schools, by covering 2000 schools every year under the 'AKSHARA AVISHKARA’
program.

IMPLEMENTATION OF ‘MACRO’ GRANTS
2. The respective Deputy Director School Education at district level shall submit the action plan
of the selected 50 schools for the approval of the Hon'ble District In-charge Minister.
3. For the academic year 2023-24, using 10% of the allocated macro funds in the district at
least 10 PU colleges shall be selected and comprehensively developed. The responsibility of
preparing the action plan is with the Deputy Director of the Department of Pre-University
Education of the respective districts.
4. Schools considered under ‘MICRO’ grant shall not be selected under MACRO to Avoid
Duplication.
