10. Find the value of m for which the pair of linear equations:
2x + 3y – 7 = 0 and (m – 1) x + (m + 1) y = (3m – 1) has infinitely many solutions.

11. If the system of equations 2x + 3y = 7 and (a + b)x + (2a – b)y = 21 has infinitely
many solutions, then find a and b.
12. (a) A motorboat whose speed in still water is 9 km/h, goes 15 km downstream and
comes back to the same spot, in a total time of 3 hours 45 minutes. Find the speed
of the stream.

(b) A takes 6 days less than the time taken by B to finish a piece of work. If both A
and B together can finish it in 4 days, find the time taken by B to finish the work.
