Comprehensive List of MS Excel Shortcuts

General Shortcuts:

 Ctrl + N: Create a new workbook


 Ctrl + O: Open an existing workbook
 Ctrl + S: Save the current workbook
 Ctrl + P: Print the current worksheet
 Ctrl + W: Close the current workbook
 Ctrl + F4: Close Excel
 F12: Open the Save As dialog box
 Ctrl + F12: Open the Open dialog box
 Alt + F: Open the File tab

Navigation Shortcuts:

 Arrow Keys: Move one cell up, down, left, or right


 Tab: Move one cell to the right
 Shift + Tab: Move one cell to the left
 Ctrl + Arrow Keys: Move to the edge of the data region
 Ctrl + Home: Move to the beginning of the worksheet (cell A1)
 Ctrl + End: Move to the last cell with data
 Page Down: Move one screen down
 Page Up: Move one screen up
 Alt + Page Down: Move one screen to the right
 Alt + Page Up: Move one screen to the left
 Ctrl + Page Down: Move to the next worksheet
 Ctrl + Page Up: Move to the previous worksheet

Selection Shortcuts:

 Ctrl + Space: Select the entire column


 Shift + Space: Select the entire row
 Ctrl + A: Select the entire worksheet
 Ctrl + Shift + Space: Select the current region
 Shift + Arrow Keys: Extend the selection by one cell
 Ctrl + Shift + Arrow Keys: Extend the selection to the edge of the data region
 Ctrl + Shift + End: Extend the selection to the last cell with data
 Ctrl + Shift + Home: Extend the selection to the beginning of the worksheet
 Shift + F8: Add to the selection
 Ctrl + Shift + * (Asterisk): Select the current region around the active cell

Editing Shortcuts:

 Ctrl + X: Cut the selected cells


 Ctrl + C: Copy the selected cells
 Ctrl + V: Paste the copied or cut cells
 Ctrl + Z: Undo the last action
 Ctrl + Y: Redo the last undone action
 Delete: Clear the content of selected cells
 F2: Edit the active cell
 Ctrl + D: Fill down the content from the cell above
 Ctrl + R: Fill right the content from the cell to the left
 Alt + Enter: Insert a line break within a cell
 Ctrl + Enter: Fill the selected cell range with the current entry
 Ctrl + "-" (Minus): Delete the selected cells
 Ctrl + "+" (Plus): Insert cells, rows, or columns

Formatting Shortcuts:

 Ctrl + 1: Open the Format Cells dialog box


 Ctrl + B: Apply or remove bold formatting
 Ctrl + I: Apply or remove italic formatting
 Ctrl + U: Apply or remove underline formatting

 Alt + = (Equal Sign): Insert the SUM function

 F4: Repeat the last action (relative reference to absolute reference toggle when editing a
formula)
