project
(TASK 1)
1. Introduction
This report explains how we identified our business as a group and the
rationale behind the choice of the business. Hi I am a enterprise
student taking my igcses i felt the need to take enterprise as an IGCSE
as i am very interested in the aspects of businesses like how they run
and what goes on behind the scenes

I believe I am a good entrepreneur and can display the skills listed
below very effectively, especially communication skills. When my
group and I finished the skills table, I highlighted 3 characteristics
which best describes me as a person with enterprise skills. They are:
Communication Skills: I am very good at verbal communication as I
can easily approach and convince people.
Writing Skills: I am confident when I express my ideas logically and
fairly into a written form
Presentation Skills: I believe that with my presentation skills I can
engage the audience using effective body language techniques
3.1 How a problem or need that our enterprise could fulfil was
researched
Our team was involved in lengthy discussions and several deliberations
about suitable business ideas. Through brainstorming, we gathered several
business ideas; and took notes of every idea –as to how each would address
the needs of our targeted customers.
Eventually, we shortlisted 3 ideas; basketball tournaments, RC CAR racing,
and AAA Games. Each member of the group is assigned each idea to come
up with some of the advantages and disadvantages of each business idea.
A person who oversees the Basketball Tournament asked the students in the
school to express their opinions about the Basketball activity during the
break time in the school and what is the price they are willing to pay for the
use of each unit. There were mixed views regarding their ability and the price
they are willing to pay. The principal reason was the limited time during the
break will be quite challenging to complete the tournament.
In addition to that, there were some policy issues from the school, which
does not allow certain facilities to be used by the students, in absence of
concerned person in charge, as expressed by PE teachers. Based on the
data, we reached the conclusion on the feasibility of this idea. It was decided
that this idea will not be successful, based on the students’ response.
Our second enterprise was researching RC games. The person in charge of
this idea pilot tested the idea on school fair day. We sought permission from
the authorities concerned and eventually, we were granted permission to
test our enterprise. In addition to that, the school supported our enterprise
and provided the required logistic support to run our enterprise smoothly.
Even though it all went well, we encountered a risk that we could not
anticipate before starting our business. business. That is the safety and
security issues. A customer nearly hit the RC car on the school property,
which could potentially get our team in big trouble. Bearing this in mind, we
did a cost-benefit analysis and came to conclude that the risk of running a
business is way higher than the benefit it may bring to the business.
As you can see in the above graph collected from a group of 45 people we
asked a variety of questions these question with explanations will be listed
below:
We asked the group whether they play games or not, the purpose of us
asking this question was to see what majority of our market plays games so
we know that if more people play games we are more likely to start a gaming
business
This was a close graph since almost 50% of our market plays games
outdoors instead of indoors but indoors still took the leading vote
strengthening our success rate by a lot.
We also had to ask about the impacts of gaming on health and school life so
that we can also add a educative perspective to our business balancing
education and gaming making sure students know that too much games is
bad for you but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t play games.

Task Three:
Implementing The Plan
Actions Completed
We all gave each other tasks to complete for our enterprise. My
tasks were the following:
Getting Resources
Setting up the stall
Putting up posters
Negotiation
Health And Safety
Skills I presented
Creativity
Innovation
Problem solving
1. Getting Resources
Our business was heavily dependent on resources like Wi-Fi
and consoles and controllers', games, tables etc. So, getting
resources was very important in the business
My contribution
I had to make sure we had everything and all in the right
place for example I oversaw getting Wi-Fi permissions and i
was in charge if setting up the consols connecting them to
the Wi-Fi once we got permissions and charging the
controllers etcetera to sum everything up i had to make sure
that on the day our business was set to run i made sure
everything was running smoothly with no problems
Problems we encountered
Based on our location the Wi-Fi availability was quite low,
and we didn't get that many signal and we also didn't get
many customers since we were based in the school canteen
away from the mains scene with all other businesses
Monitoring
Before opening the enterprise to the students I made sure
everyone brought the consols and after I made sure of that I
turned them all on to make sure they are working with no
problems and that all the games are downloaded and most
importantly checked if the controllers are charged after that I
made sure that we had the right amount of extensions for all
the plugs and all the charging wires after all of that we finally
opened the business
My contribution
I had to gather all the chairs and tables from the classes
which weren't being used with help from the school's
maintenance team we made sure to get everything we
needed from extension cords to tables and chairs
Problems we had
Before we setup any consoles or anything we checked the
condition of the tables and chairs to see if they were too high
or too low for example most of the tables were wobbling
which is a huge safety risk for the consoles, so we had to
make sure to inform the teachers about this and get new
tables
Monitoring
As motioned above we had to make sure everything was
setup correctly for everyone to play on the consoles and we
had to make sure to place the tables in a way where when
someone would walk by the canteen, they would see the
consoles and the games being offered
3. Putting Up Poster
Posters were our main form of marketing so after we made
our posters, we hung them up around the school making
sure we found the best places in which many students would
pass by and see our poster. I made sure to be creative and
made sure the poster was very appealing and had many
pictures
Problems we had
We needed to find a place to put up our poster we made sure
to highlight 2 factors: Location and Population meaning the
location should be somewhere where there are a lot of
people walking by for example the wall you see when you
exit the staircase this helped attract potentials customers
4. Permissions
Because we are a school business, and we don't make the
decisions we needed to get different permissions for
different aspects of our business like for example
permissions in general to start a business permission to play
certain games Wi-Fi permissions and permissions to use
class time to setup and brainstorm
Monitoring
To make sure everything was clean and safe before setting
up i also wiped all the screen, controllers and console with a
disinfectant wipe and put a sign saying you need to wash
your hands before playing
Problems we had
Despite all the rules some customers decided to show up
dirty and touching our equipment obviously we were able to
deal with this by escorting them or telling them to wash
there hands but we knew this would be a problem we would
encounter
6. Negotiation
