Proper Scaffold Erection Sequence

Base preparation and setup


x Area is barricaded & proper signage is installed
x Ground is firm, stable, level, free of debris
x Scaffolding components have been inspected & counted
x Use steel base plates, adjustable screw jacks, or castors for mobile towers
x Use mudsills when erecting on soil
x Use screw jacks to level the base
x Never stack wood, bricks, or concrete blocks to level the scaffold

xInstall first lift transoms & check for proper fit
xCheck level of transoms & adjust screw jacks
xSquare the base lift.
xInsure all connections are properly secured.

xConnect first lift standards to base standards

xMake sure connections are fully engaged
xInstall base level working planks to assist with installation of next level
xAlways fully plank working levels
xWith base level working planks installed, begin installation of next level
transoms & ledgers
Provide the standard color
coding for scaff tag as per
the project requirement.
