A Day Labourer
A day labourer is a worker who earns wages on a daily basis, often engaging in physically
demanding tasks such as construction, agriculture, or manual labor. They usually lack
permanent employment and depend on finding work each day to
support themselves and their families. Due to the nature of their
work, they face financial instability, harsh working conditions, and
a lack of job security. Many day labourers work under extreme
weather conditions, earning minimal wages that barely cover their
basic needs. They often do not have access to healthcare, social
security, or other employment benefits. Despite their struggles,
they play a vital role in the economy by contributing to
infrastructure development, farming, and various industries.
Governments and organizations must take steps to ensure fair
wages and better working conditions for them. Recognizing their
efforts and providing support can improve their livelihoods and create a more just society for all
workers.

The Book Fair I’ve recently visited
The book fair I’ve recently visited was an exciting and enriching
experience. It was held at a large exhibition center, filled with stalls
from various publishers showcasing books on diverse topics. The
fair had a wide collection of literature, including fiction, non-fiction,
academic books, and children’s stories. I was thrilled to explore new
titles and discover books by my favorite authors. There were also
interactive sessions with writers, where they shared insights about
their works and the importance of reading. Discounts and special
offers made the experience even more enjoyable, allowing me to
buy several books at affordable prices. The atmosphere was lively,
with students, teachers, and book lovers eagerly browsing through
the collections. It was inspiring to see so many people passionate
about reading. Visiting the book fair not only enhanced my
knowledge but also deepened my love for books. I look forward to attending more book fairs in
the future.

a team of students and teachers. It highlights the achievements of
students in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities, inspiring

activities. Overall, a school magazine plays a crucial role in encouraging
literary and artistic expression while fostering a sense of unity and pride among students and
teachers.

Our National Flag
The national flag of Bangladesh is a symbol of the country's independence, sovereignty, and
national pride. It features a red circle slightly off-center on a green rectangular
background. The flag was originally designed by a group of student leaders of the
Bangladesh Liberation War movement and was first hoisted on March 2, 1971, at
the University of Dhaka. Later, it was officially adopted as the national flag on
January 17, 1972, with a revised design by artist Quamrul Hassan, removing the
original map of Bangladesh from the red circle for simplicity. The flag's proportions
are 10:6. The red circle, representing the blood of those who sacrificed their lives
for independence, has a diameter of one-fifth of the flag’s length and is placed
slightly towards the hoist side. The green background symbolizes the lush
greenery of the country and the hope of a prosperous future. The official color
codes for the flag are specified in the Bangladesh Flag Rules, with the green
being a deep bottle-green and the red a bright red.The national flag of
Bangladesh stands as a powerful emblem of the nation’s struggle, identity, and
aspirations. It reminds every citizen of the sacrifices made for freedom and the responsibility to
uphold the values of independence and progress.
Traffic Jam
Traffic jams are a major issue in urban areas, causing delays, stress,
and economic losses. They occur due to excessive vehicles, poor road
infrastructure, and inefficient traffic management. Rush hours, road
accidents, and construction work further contribute to congestion,
making daily commutes frustrating. As vehicles remain idle for long
periods, fuel consumption increases, leading to higher air pollution and
environmental damage. Traffic jams also reduce productivity, as people
spend hours on the road instead of working or relaxing. To address this
problem, cities must invest in better public transportation, promote
carpooling, and implement smart traffic systems. Expanding roads can
provide temporary relief, but long-term solutions require encouraging
alternative transportation methods such as cycling and walking.
Governments should also focus on urban planning strategies to reduce congestion by
decentralizing business districts and improving road networks. Addressing traffic jams effectively
will improve quality of life and enhance economic efficiency.
