PETROBRAS BÚZIOS 4 from 6
TITLE:
VALVE Emergency Ball - Hydraulic
NOTES:
1) Valve cases, bolts, and nuts shall follow the requirements of paragraphs 5.6.1 through 5.6.5. of the ABNT NBR 15827
standard,
Prototype design and testing, third edition (2013). For carbon steel bolts, cases or bolts and nuts must be coated with
ASTM B 841, Class 1, Type B/E, Grade 5 to 8, with stress and hydrogen relief in accordance with ASTM B 849 and ASTM B
850.
2) Valve and actuator should be supplied painted with two coats of 150 μm (each) of N-2912 Type I paint, Munsell gray
color 6.5. Surface preparation should be done by abrasive blasting to the almost white metal, grade Sa 2
Valve should be flushed with high pressure water jet (minimum 3000 psi) to remove contamination with soluble salts.
Immediately after this wash, dry the surface of the valve with compressed air. Items 3.1 and 3.3.1 of N-2913 can be used
as a reference for the surface treatment procedure. Continuity control of the film must be carried out with the use of a
"holiday detector", according to the PETROBRAS N-13 and N-2137 standards.
Valves whose body is made of bronze alloy or superduplex stainless steel are free from painting.
3) Not applicable
4) Not applicable
5) Not applicable
6) The seat spring material should be Ni UNS N07750 alloy, or equivalent materials as per IOGP S-562
7) Provision shall be made for an anti-static device in cases where the electrical resistance between dry plug/stem
and valve body is greater than 10 ohms.
8) For piston-type actuators (hydraulically or pneumatically-operated), the inner surface of the cylinder must be
coated to protect against possible ingress of marine atmosphere.
9) Actuator materials must be compatible with CX corrosive marine environment (marine environment, ISO 12944).
10) The actuation system shall be supplied with a closed loop arrangement (IOGP S-707), in order to avoid corrosion in
the internal diameter of the cylinder by the marine atmosphere. A "closed loop" is understood as a hydraulic or
pneumatic arrangement, in which the two chambers of the actuator are kept without contact with the marine
atmosphere.
11) Not applicable
12) Valves must be supplied with accessories attached and ready to operate.
13) Not applicable
14) Not applicable
15) The support of the instruments and their screws must be made of AISI 316 stainless steel.
16) Not applicable
17) Not applicable
18) The requirements for position indicator housing (required for shut-off valve) are as follows:
19) Not applicable
20) Identification plates are required for control and shut-off valves and must be indelible, made of AISI 316 stainless
steel. They must contain the following content:
a) Tag.
b) Manufacturer's Name.
c) Full model.
d) Serial Number.
e) Body Material.
f) Nominal diameter.
g) Pressure class.
h) Fault position.
i) Actuator pressure limit.
j) CV (For control valve only).
l) Fire test standard (if applicable)

TITLE:
VALVE Emergency Ball - Hydraulic
21) Not applicable
22) Hydraulically operated valve actuators must be designed to operate with LUBRAX HYDRA 32 XP mineral oil-based
hydraulic fluid. Consider the quality as NAS 1638 class 8.
23) Packaging Requirements:
a) The valve packaging must be able to protect it from mechanical impact damage due to handling and transport and from
corrosion due to its storage in a sheltered environment with an aggressive atmosphere (CX classification of the ISO 12944
standard). The packaging must be able to protect it for a minimum of two years without the need for periodic
intervention. Special attention should be paid to impact protection on small diameter threaded connections such as
grease fittings, plugs, relief valves, etc.
b) Additives should be used in the valve test fluid, which should contain corrosion inhibitors and also have a bactericidal
function.
c) After the hydrostatic test, the valve should be drained, dried and immediately protected with instantaneous effect
Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) (spray or capsule type), according to the packaging design. Valves that need to be
transported in the closed position must have both sides of the plug protected.
d) In the case of bronze, stainless steel and other non-oxidizable metal alloys, the use of more simplified preservation
methods is allowed as long as their components are also resistant to oxidation.
e) After the application of the anti-corrosive system, all valves must receive a plastic plug at each of the ends sized to
cause sealing against water ingress and protection in the seating regions of the joint or bevel for welding or threaded
region.
f) Wooden packages must have a clearly identified opening place and allow that, once the item has been checked, it
can be closed again.
g) All valves over 2 inches must be individually wrapped (enveloped) with clear or translucent plastic film containing
Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI). Valves smaller than or equal to 2 inches can be grouped together before being
protected by the aforementioned plastic film.
h) Packages weighing more than 50 kg must be packed on pallets suitable for mechanical handling.
24) Documentation Requirements.
a) The documentation (Packing List) accompanying the valve(s) must be in waterproof packaging and contain at least
the following documents:
b) The maintenance and installation manual, which should contain at least the following information:
- Values of the initial, minimum and final torques required for the opening and closing of the valve considering the
maximum working pressure provided for in the ASME B16.34 standard (rating) for its pressure class and ambient
temperature;
- Recommended maximum and minimum torques for tightening the body connection bolts and gaskets (where
applicable);
- Exploded view drawing containing the references of the different parts and the technical specifications of all the
components of the valve;
- Invoice stating the purchase order number (PC);
- Item number and sub-item in relation to the PC;
- Number of volumes for each item;
