The GOAT
A Limerick

LeBron takes flight, so strong and fast,
His skills will always leave you gasped.
He soars so high,
Dunks through the sky,
His fame and talent sure will last.

The crowd stands up to watch him play,


He leads his team in every way.

This poem was written to celebrate LeBron James and his greatness in
basketball, emphasizing his dominance, skill, and lasting legacy. The title is
significant because it immediately establishes LeBron as "the basketball
GOAT," reinforcing the theme of his superiority in the sport. Some figurative
language I included in the poem is a metaphor “dunks through the sky” which
compares Lebrons dunking to flying.
My Blanket

Oh, gentle shield against the cold,
you wrap me up in warmth and light,
a silent hug when night feels long,
a shelter soft, a perfect home.

You know my dreams, my fears, my rest,


you hold me close when no one’s near,
a woven friend so calm, so true,
you never leave, you never change.

This poem was written to highlight the comforting presence of a blanket, something
ordinary yet deeply important in everyday life. It personalizes the subject, making the
blanket feel like a cherished companion rather than just an object.
Meadow
A Favorite Word Poem

The breeze is soft, the grass is tall,


A quiet world, where peace can call.
Her voice is calm, a whisper true,
A gentle breeze, a sky so blue.

Look around, the small things show,


The happiness you need to know.
In every moment, peace can grow,
If you take the time to let it flow.

I wrote this poem because when I was thinking of a word I immediately was trying to think of
something nature related. I was thinking of a beautiful field or a beautiful landscape and thought
of a meadow.The significance of the title is Meadow, describing what the poem is about. The
poem makes me feel calm, soothing, and at peace. Some figurative language i included was “a
quiet word where peace can call”. The quiet word isn't actually a real world, it's just a metaphor
describing a calm and peaceful environment.
Sunset
A Sonnet

The sun goes down and colors fill the sky,
With orange, pink, and gold so bright and true.
I watch it fade and slowly say goodbye,
The day is gone, but night will bring a view.

The waves reflect the light that slips away,


A soft, cool breeze is moving through the air.
The sky turns dark, the world is touched by gray,
But twinkling stars will sparkle everywhere.

The sun may set, but it will rise once more,


A brand new day will come, so big and bright.
The golden rays will shine like times before,
And chase away the shadows of the night.

So when the sun sinks low and fades from sight,


I know that it will come again with light.

I wrote this poem because the sunsets are beautiful and peaceful. The significance of the title shows
what the poem is about and its describing the sunset. The poem makes me feel comfortable and
soothing. Some figurative language I included is “the golden rays will shine like times before” a
metaphor to show that just like past times or memories, explaining that good times return.
Ocean

I wrote this poem because a ocean is something simple to explain and really
peaceful. The significance of the title is Ocean, and the poem is representing and
describing the Ocean, and it's peaceful traits. The poem can make me feel like i'm at
an ocean because of the description, and makes you feel relaxed and free. Some
figurative language I used is “soft winds gently whisper” a personification making the
wind feel alive, and like it's talking in a calm way.
