Resolution
For the BPC for S/4HANA apps that are based on BEx queries use the below solution. The names of these BEx queries
start with “/ERP/SFIN”.
1. In order to include new customer fields in reporting, the customer can make use of the extensibility concept. SAP
provides a tool that extends the reports and planning cube for this purpose: MET Model Extension Tool.
2. You find the tool and documentation in the IMG: Controlling - General Controlling - Planning - Setup for planning -
Enhance InfoProvider with additional fields
3. To add characteristics to the app Market segment actuals: It is possible to add any field that exists in table ACDOCA. All
you have to do is to run the transaction FCOM_MET for every field you wish to use in the app Market Segments -
Actuals. If you want to extend the available fields for reporting purposes only, then tick only the actual data InfoProvider
/ERP/SFIN_V01. Using the MET tool will enhance the respective infoprovider and the underlying infrastructure
4. To be able to use the additional field in the app, you have to enhance the BW query used in the app. This is the query
/ERP/SFIN_V01_Q2501 for "Market segment Actuals" and /ERP/SFIN_M01_Q2501 for "Market segment
Plan/Actuals". It is necessary to add the new characteristic to the list of free characteristics in the query. Open the query
in BEx Query Designer, find the added characteristics in the left column "InfoProvider" and drag and drop them to "Free
Characteristics". Don't forget to save the query. Now all the added characteristics should be available in both RSRT and
the app.
5. FCOM_MET tool is used to add custom fields and afterwards the respective Bex query is required to be adjusted
manually. FCOM_MET tool has no “revert” option, so you need to remove the generated infoobjects from the
infoprovider manually if required (if you need to revert the changes done in previous steps). This change is the
customer's responsibility and it is applicable for all BPC based apps.
For apps based on CDS queries (like Market Segments - Actuals based on C_MARKETSEGMENTQ2501): the CDS queries
are enhanced by enabling the usage of the field in App "Custom Fields and Logic" under section "Analytics". For fields created
via KEA5, the CDS Views need to be enhanced manually as described in SAP Note 3005736.
