TECHNOLOGY

Development
Platform Uses MySql Database and PHP for backend. For front
end development, JavaScript, Angular JS, HTML 5 and CSS are
used to add an element of smoothness along with robustness

Cloud Hosting
AlmaShines Alumni Platform is hosted on Amazon Web Services,
ensuring a high performance and best of security of the alumni
database. AWS has a dynamic ability to ensure the same
performance, irrespective of load on the platform

All Device Friendly Interface


With our ultra-modern technology, the platform has been built
absolutely responsive, which means, the alumni get the same
amazing experience on all the devices i.e. on Desktop, Tablet and
Phone.

Mobile App Technology


The iOS and Android Apps have been built on Cordova, the latest
technology in app development, used by giants like Quora and
Flipkart to ensure a great performance
Secure Database
All the database stored in an encrypted format, which means it
makes the data humanly inaccessible and can only be accessed
by the database administrator by using the security key,
CLOUD
SECURITY
Network firewalls: We have put multiple layers of network firewalls
in place which prevent all unknown and unauthorized access to our
servers.
Connection Encryption: All connections between our servers are
highly secured and private with 2048-bit encryption.
DDoS protection: We use AWS Shield, Elastic Load Balancers, and
Auto Scaling services, which makes our system highly available and
gives us the ability to withstand DDoS attacks.
Protection from malicious traffic: AWS Shield’s network flow
monitoring system inspects incoming traffic to our servers and
uses a combination of traffic signatures, anomaly algorithms, and
other analysis techniques to detect and block malicious traffic in
real-time.
Attack Mitigation: Automated mitigation techniques are built into
AWS Shield Standard, giving us protection against common, most
frequently occurring infrastructure (Layer 3 and 4) attacks. We also
use techniques like deterministic packet filtering, and priority-
based traffic shaping to mitigate attacks automatically without
impact to our application.
Security monitoring: All of our infrastructure components are
protected by an extensive network of security monitoring systems
that are continuously scanned and tested.
End to End Traffic Encryption: We use HTTPS instead of HTTP to
make the connection between user and server highly secure.
HTTPS uses the SSL/TLS protocol, which uses public-key
cryptography to prevent eavesdropping, tampering, and forgery.
APPLICATION
SECURITY

Web application firewall (WAF): AWS WAF protects our web


applications from common web exploits that could affect
application availability, compromise security, or consume
excessive resources.
Protection from Common Attacks: WAF detects and blocks
common attack patterns such as SQL injection or cross-site
scripting and protects our application from malicious web
requests.
Access Logs: We keep a log of all the incoming requests to our
application which help us to identify unusual activities.
Highly Secured Database Servers: The security layer prevents and
blocks all unauthorized connections to our database servers. It
allows highly secured connections with an encrypted signature
from our application servers.
Database Encryption: Our entire database instance is encrypted
with the AES-256 encryption algorithm which uses our private
secured keys. This adds an additional protection layer from
potential thefts.
Database Backups: We take back-up of the database every day
which is stored for 40 days. The permanent copies are backed up in
every 7 days. This ensures zero data loss at any point of time.

Customer Success Manager: AlmaShines appoints a dedicated
account manager to provide a proper hand holding.
Complaint Redressal: All the complaints need to be shared on mail
to [email protected] or over phone to the Account Manager.
The turnaround for the complaint shall be as per the Turnaround
Time Structure mentioned below
Turnaround Time for Technical Support: The turnaround time is
categorized at three levels based on the severity of the issue :
1. Tier 1: Turnaround time within 6 Hours, for urgent issues that
hamper the functionality of the platform or hampering the institute
from conducting their regular alumni operations
2. Tier 2: Turnaround time within 24 Hours, for crucial issues that is
against the credibility of the institute and needs to be addressed at
high priority
3. Tier 3: Turnaround time within 48 Hours, for all other support
requests not covered under Tier 1 and Tier 2
On Line Assistance: As a part of its service, AlmaShines assures up
online assistance to provide assistance that ensures the usability
and performance of the platform
Training: As the platform is set up, full-fledged online training is
provided to the complete alumni office team to ensure a smooth
handholding on the new platform
f)Transition from Old Systems: AlmaShines provides complete
assistance in shifting the databases from the old systems to the
AlmaShines Alumni Platform
