In the harer nama verse 8 times is emphasized same time , when we see something repeated , it means
there is a profound meaning over there, so her sang tyagat is repeated from the previous verse in a
different way.

Giving up bad association will help us to develop bad association , this implies that its such a imp
principle that rupa goswami considered it imp to repeat it

Bad association can pollute or desire , intelligence and faith it works both ways.

Why in a positive list , negative things is brought up ?

Just by giving up bad association , negative desires will decrease and we will become more open to
positive spiritual desires.

There are two ways material desires come , from inside of our mind and from outside association, thus
we have to fight our internal desires & we have to minimize outside bad association and one of best way
is to avoid those people who are carriers of material desire. Just like we avoid a infected person to save
our good health. Thus we have to be cautious to protect our bhakti .

There are 3 types of association , devotional , non devotional and anti –devotional , so we should take
devotional , minimize non devotional & avoid anti- devotional altogether , keep safe distance neglect.
Thus we should utilize our time in nourishing our bhakti in association of devotees thus there is no time
left for associating with anti- devotional people.

Guru is one who knows the way , shows the way & goes the way .

Thus we have to follow the examples and inclination shown to us by the satas, advanced devotees but at
certain times when it is dfiffcult to get association , so when we get association we should be attentive
careful and try and absorb to make our spiritual life richer and sweeter .

Those who do not try to get the association fo advanced devotees no matter how hard the try on their
own its is impossible to get attracted to the lotus feet of the lord, but we should be very cautious to
associate with those devotees whose values we want to emulate and not just random hearing from here
and there.

Vrtti refers to tendency of mind , thus we have to cultivate our consciousness to get attracted to krishna

Not all love develops at first sight it just is lust , physical attraction , thus we have to cultivate the love
over a period of time

Sato vrtteh is practice of devotional service by looking at the example of previous acharyas and imbibing
those qualities.
Enthusiasm Patience faith Pure goodness
Enthusiasm Patience Goodness
Enthusiasm No Patience Passion
No Enthusiasm No Patience No Faith Ignorance

When all three are there we should understand that we have complete mercy of lord .

Without positive association with krishna one gets dragged down in maya, if we give too much power to
our desires we get powerless in front of them

By associating with those who have higher sato vrtti we make rapid spiritual advancement, thus we
should avoid free mixing with those people who can affect our bhakti .

Good association is so precious and rare that wherever we get we should cherish it .

The bond between people does not happen by physical proximity but by sharing joys & sorrows .

Don’t get your heart involved in non devotional things if we have to be present just be present in name
only .
