Assignment 1-
Movie Review – Reflection Essay – 30 Marks
Task: Choose one movie from the list. Write a reflective essay
(800–1000 words).
Focus Areas:
• Workplace dynamics
• Leadership, listening, persuasion
• Conflict resolution, ethics

Suggested Films:
• The Intern | Hidden Figures | 12 Angry Men
• The Pursuit of Happyness | Moneyball | Sully
• The Devil Wears Prada | Up in the Air | Steve Jobs

Assessment 2: Record a 3–5 minute dialogue (with a peer, AI


tool like ChatGPT, or a recorded partner) on a topic of your
interest if you need ideas you can choose one of the following
professional communication scenarios:
1.Team Meeting Discussion
• Topic: Planning a college fest, event, or campaign
(marketing, logistics, budget).
• Focus: Clarity, turn-taking, idea exchange, polite
disagreement, task delegation.
2. Client Interaction / Customer Service Role-Play
• Scenario: Student plays a representative responding to a
client’s query or concern.
• Focus: Problem-solving tone, active listening, and
professionalism.
3. Pitching an Idea to a Colleague or Boss
• Topic: A new initiative, startup idea, or project suggestion.
• Focus: Convincing tone, structured explanation, responding
to questions
Submission Guidelines:
• Use clear audio, no background noise
• You may record using voice apps, Zoom, or AI chat tools
• If using ChatGPT, include the prompt used and the
conversation script in a PDF
• Submit audio + transcript (only if audio is unclear)
Assessment Criteria (30 Marks):
• Clarity and fluency
• Use of professional vocabulary/phrases
• Responsiveness and turn-taking
• Tone, pace, and modulation
• Natural flow and relevance of the conversation.
Assessment 3: TEDx Video Analysis – 20 Marks
Task: Watch 2–3 TEDx Talks (see suggested list below). Write
bullet-point or short-paragraph reflections (600-700 words
total).
Focus Areas:
• Verbal & non-verbal communication
• Audience engagement
• Structure & clarity
• Relevance to professional life

Suggested Talks: Choose any 2, you can also share more if you
like, ones that are relevant to course, we can include those as
well in this list.
