Chess Tournament Rules and Regulations*

*1. Touch Rule*

A player must move a piece if they touch it, provided it is a legal move.

2. Clock Rules*

The player using the black pieces starts the clock. Players must press the clock with the same hand
they use to make their move.

3. Tie-Breakers*

In case of a tie, standard tie-breaking methods will be applied as per tournament rules.

*4. Single-Hand Play*

Players must make their moves and operate the clock using only one hand.

*5. Initial Positions*

All chess pieces must be correctly placed in their standard starting positions after the game begins.

*6. Post-Match Arrangement*

Players must arrange the chess pieces back to their starting positions after the match concludes.

*7. Points System*

Points will be awarded as follows:

- Win: 1 point

- Draw: 0.5 points

- Loss: 0 points

### *8. Irregularities*

Any irregularities or disputes should be reported to the arbiter immediately.

*9. Illegal Moves*

A player can make a maximum of two illegal moves. If a third illegal move is made, the player will lose
the game.

*10. Repetition Rule*


If the same position occurs three times with the same player to move, the game can be claimed as a
draw.

*11. Electronic Devices*

No electronic devices are allowed, except smartwatches and digital chess clocks.

*12. Sportsmanship*

Players must maintain good sportsmanship and fair play throughout the tournament. Any misconduct
may lead to disqualification.

*13. Fixtures, Byes, and Tournament Format*

The tournament will follow one of the following formats:

- Knockout (KO)

- Swiss System

- Round Robin

The specific format will be announced before the tournament begins.

*14. Chess Clocks*

Chess clocks must be set up before the game starts, and players have to download it in their phone.
