HSE Bulletin 019 - Lone Working
HSE Bulletin 019 - Lone Working
SAFETY BULLETIN
Lone Working Date: 14/07/2021
The purpose of this safety bulletin is to highlight the dangers associated with lone working and suggest possible control
measures. Lone workers are those who work by themselves without close or direct supervision face distinct hazards and risks
that may require a tailored approach.
Lone workers may be facing similar hazards to others, but the fact they are alone is likely to increas e the risks. If someone
become injured, trapped, or unconscious when working alone and are not able to call for help, it may be some time before
anyone finds out he/she is in trouble or where he/she is located. This delay in getting help or treatment can c ause an injury
to become more serious, even deadly.
