DESCRIPTION
1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The MicroZed v3.5 elevator controller module includes all the essential components needed to manage the
elevator's operation while ensuring both the elevator and its users are protected from potential faults. It supports
up to 4 elevators in a group. The module features an easy-to-use interface with a 24-character, 2-line LCD
alphanumeric display (sold separately) and three push buttons for navigating through different pages, menus,
and editing parameters. The outputs can control both AC and DC contactors. The controller includes an optional
interface for an incremental encoder, which provides floor information (such as slowing down and final stop).
Both outputs, inputs, and call settings are fully configurable by the user. In call multiplexing mode, the controller
can handle up to 16/9 floors in down/full collective simplex. The firmware is upgradeable on-site.
Additionally, the MicroZed v3.5 controller features a serial RS485 port, allowing it to connect to a handheld
diagnostic tool (sold separately). An optional CAN bus port is also available for serial calls. Furthermore, there is
an optional interface that includes a USB port, an Ethernet port for internet connectivity, and an RS232 port for
connecting to a GSM modem.
Ensure a freewheeling diode is added in parallel with the coil of each contactor or relay driven by the board. Failure to do so may
compromise the operation of the output transistor and eventually cause damage.

1. Level I errors: These errors block the elevator temporarily, but the elevator can resume operation once
the error is cleared.
2. Level II errors: These errors can occur a limited number of times before the board blocks the elevator.
The count of Level II errors is displayed on LCD Page 4. When the count reaches the "Max. Count Of
Err" , the board will block the elevator.
3. Level III errors: These are considered critical errors, and the board will block any further elevator
operation.
Pressing the Select push button on LCD Page 4 will display the last 15 errors saved in memory. The board will
show the most recent error first, along with the time, date, and floor where the error occurred. Use the Previous

5. MENU
The display must be on the "Inspection operation" page, and the lift must be in inspection mode. Inspection
operation can be performed in three ways:
1. Inspection Operation via Board Inputs: The INSP_DN and INSP_UP inputs are used for this method.
2. Inspection Operation via Push Buttons: When SELECT is pressed, the NEXT and PREV buttons
function as INSP_DN and INSP_UP inputs, respectively. To exit inspection mode, press the SELECT
button. The system will also exit inspection mode if no buttons are pressed for 10 seconds. The INSP_DN
and INSP_UP inputs take priority and will override the NEXT and PREV buttons.
3. Inspection Operation via Car Panel: "Insp. Car Cmd" must be set to Enabled in the "Site Configuration"
submenu. CC0 and CC1 call terminals act as INSP_UP and INSP_DN inputs, respectively. In serial mode,
the CT0 and CT1 physical terminals on the Cartop are used for this feature, regardless of the call
configuration.
During inspection mode, when the lift stops at a door zone and "Door Zone" is installed in the "Site Configuration"
submenu, if both INSP_UP and INSP_DN inputs are pressed (via terminals, car commands, diagnostic tool push
buttons, or LCD), the door will open.
Additionally, in inspection mode, if "EOS During Insp" is set to Enabled in the "Site Configuration" submenu:
When the lift is moving down and EOS_DN goes off, the lift will stop immediately.
If the lift is stationed under EOS_DN and an INSP_DN command is given, the lift will not move.
When the lift is moving up and EOS_UP goes off, the lift will stop immediately.
If the lift is stationed above EOS_UP and an INSP_UP command is given, the lift will not move.
When the lift is moving down at inspection speed and EOS_DN goes off, the lift will switch to low speed and
stop when the door zone is reached.
When the lift is moving up at inspection speed and EOS_UP goes off, the lift will switch to low speed and
stop when the door zone is reached.
This feature is used when there are two doors in the same cabin: Door A and Door B. When "2Side Door F." is
enabled in the menu, "Auto Door Mapping" appears, providing access to the submenu "Floor # x Door Side."
Inputs, outputs, and calls are now configurable, allowing users to freely assign different available functions. For
example, if a call terminal is damaged, the technician can reassign the call to another terminal without needing to
replace the board, as long as the board has spare, unused call terminals. The same flexibility applies to inputs and
outputs, saving technicians the need to replace or repair the board after each failure.
In the Outputs Configuration, the output voltage level remains unaffected by the output configuration. For example,
an output with a high active level will have a terminal voltage of +22V when active, regardless of the function
assigned to that output.
ON

Not used
OFF = The hardware implementation of EOS DNI and EOS UPI is enabled. This means
that whenever EOS DNI or EOS UPI activates while the lift is moving downward
or upward, the speed reference signals (High, Low, Intermediate) are instantly
disabled. As a result, the VVVF drive will be forced to decelerate to zero speed
and come to a stop.
For AC2 speed, hydraulic, and VVVF systems without direct approach, dip switches 1 and 2 must
remain on.
This feature will become invalid if the Hi-Speed or Intermediate Speed output is reconfigured to a different output.
Reconfiguration should only be performed if the original output is physically damaged and non-functional.
7. IMPLEMENTATION
OF DIRECT APPROACH
(USING ENCODER)
When in inspection mode and moving up, the ↑ green LED should be ON.
When in inspection mode and moving down, the ↓ red LED should be ON.
If the LEDs do not indicate the correct direction, swap the Up and DN direction outputs. If the issue
persists, switch the encoder signals.
To perform a Learning Trip, the Collective Type must not be set to MulD or MulF. If it is, the controller will prompt the user to change the
Collective Type and display the message: "Modify collective type to Down or Full”.
In the Encoder Configuration submenu, "RelevAftrStp" must be set to "Disabled" during the Learning Trip procedure and distance
calculation.

Manual Floor Adjustment enables the installer to fine-tune the lift's floor stopping position and should only be
performed after the Learning Trip procedure and distance calculation. Ideally, if all DZ flags (or magnets) are
accurately positioned at the floor level, no additional floor tuning should be necessary.
9. ACCESS CONTROL
The Access Control (i.e., carcall lock) feature is now available. This means that when a car call is locked, the
corresponding passcode must be entered in order to register and service the car call.
When set to Disabled: No carcalls are locked, and carcalls can be registered freely.
When set to Enabled: It allows you to select the locked floors and set their corresponding passcodes.
The pages "AccessLck 1 STP#", "AccessLck 2 STP#", "AccessLck 3 STP#", …, "AccessLck 8 STP#" are
used to select the locked floors and their related passcodes. Each passcode consists of 4 digits.
Once "Access Control" is enabled, the “AccessLck 1 STP#” page becomes accessible. The default setting is ALL,
meaning that all floors are locked, and the passcode is set to 0000.
1. "ALL": Locks all floors. No carcalls will be served unless the correct passcode is entered.
2. Floors from "0" to "last floor": Locks up to 8 specified floors.
3. "-": Ends the floor selection process (Note: “-” cannot be chosen for the “AccessLck 1 STP#”).
To modify these settings, press the rightmost push button. ALL will start blinking. To lock a specific floor, use the
leftmost push button to decrease the digit and the middle push button to increase the digit. Once the desired floor is
selected, press the rightmost push button.
After selecting the locked floor, the first digit of the passcode will blink. Use the leftmost push button to decrease the
digit and the middle push button to increase the digit. Once the desired digit is set, press the rightmost push button.
The next digit will blink. Repeat the process for all 4 digits. Ensure that the passcode digits correspond to those
available in the COP (Car Operating Panel). The lowest floor is considered zero, and subsequent floors are
numbered starting from 1.
When a locked carcall is pressed, it will blink to indicate that it is locked. The passcode must be entered within 5
seconds to register the carcall.
For example, if carcall “5” is locked and its passcode is "2658", you must press the following sequence within 5
seconds: 5, 2, 6, 5, 8. After the last digit is entered, the carcall button will light up, confirming that the carcall is
registered.
