In this investigation you will be looking at the relationship between the defined
transformation and the change in coordinates of the object and image.

Part 1
An object is translated by three vectors and the coordinate of one vertex is shown in the
table.

Patterns I notice: (5-6/7-8 i))
As the CoR moves up the y-axis, the image moves one up and one left
As the CoR moves one (right) along the x-axis, the image moves one up and one right
As the CoR moves 1 left, 2 down (-1, -2), the image moves 1 right, 3 down (1, -3)
Rules: (7-8, ii))
(5-6 ii) may be if the investigation did not correctly look at a rotation of 90o clockwise but a
correct rule was found for these incorrect results. Or if a rule was found which works in some
scenarios e.g. if the CoR is on the y-axis).
When an object rotates around (0,0) the x and y-coordinates swap, then the
y-coordinate is multiplied by -1. E.g. if (3, 5) was rotated 90o clockwise around (0, 0) it
would go to (5, -3)
If the CoR is (a,b) and the original object has coordinate (x, y), the image coordinate is
(y+a-b, -x+a+b)

When you rotate an object 90o clockwise you first look for the difference from the CoR
to the coordinate. This difference could be described as a translation vector (m, n). So
a+m = x and b+n = y (the CoR + this vector = the original coordinate)
Turning that 90o clockwise gives a new vector of (n, -m) from the CoR (any move right,
goes down, any move down goes left etc.). so a + n = xi and b -m = yi (CoR + new
vector = the image coordinate). As m = x-a and n = y - b (the vector is the difference
between the original coordinate and the centre of rotation), this gives (xi, yi) = (y+a-b,
-x+a+b)
