Micro-Project Report
1.0 Rationale:
Wireless technology has become an integral part of modern life, influencing various aspects of
communication, entertainment, healthcare, transportation, and more. It provides the freedom to
transmit data over distances without the need for physical cables or wires.
Wireless technology refers to the transmission of data, voice, or video over electromagnetic waves,
without the need for physical cables. It uses radio waves, microwaves, infrared waves, and other
forms of electromagnetic radiation to carry information from one device to another. The devices
involved include transmitters, receivers, antennas, and protocols to ensure secure and
effective communication.
Wi-Fi Specifications
1. Wi-Fi Versions:
• Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) → Up to 600 Mbps
• Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) → Up to 3.5 Gbps
• Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) → Up to 9.6 Gbps
• Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) → Up to 46 Gbps
2. Range:
• Indoor: 20–50 meters.
• Outdoor: 100+ meters with strong antennas.
3. Features:
• Faster speeds & better coverage.
• Supports multiple devices at once.
• More secure with WPA3 encryption.
2) Bluetooth:
3) Zigbee:
Zigbee Specifications
• Low Power Consumption.
• Low Data Rate (20- 250 kbps)
• Short-Range (75-100 meters)
• Network Join Time (~ 30 msec)
• Support Small and Large Networks (up to 65000 devices (Theory); 240 devices
(Practically))
• Low Cost of Products and Cheap Implementation (Open-Source Protocol)
4) 5G Wireless Technology:
• Up to 10Gbps data rate - > 10 to 100x speed improvement over 4G and 4.5G networks.
• 1-millisecond latency.
• 1000x bandwidth per unit area.
• Up to 100x number of connected devices per unit area (compared with 4G LTE)
• 99.999% availability.
• 100% coverage.
