G20

Overview
The Group of Twenty (G20) is the premier forum for international
economic cooperation. It plays an important role in shaping and
strengthening global architecture and governance on all major
international economic issues.
The G20 was foreshadowed at the Cologne summit of the G7 in June
1999, and formally established at the G7 Finance Ministers' meeting on
26 September 1999 with an inaugural meeting on 15–16 December 1999
in Berlin. Hence, the G20 was founded in 1999 after the Asian financial
crisis. The G20 Summit is held annually, under the leadership of a
rotating Presidency.
The G20 initially focused largely on broad macroeconomic issues, but it
has since expanded its agenda to inter-alia include trade, sustainable
development, health, agriculture, energy, environment, climate change,
and anti-corruption.
G20 Members :-
The Group of Twenty (G20) comprises 19 countries:
Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India,
Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia,
South Africa, Türkiye, United Kingdom and United States and the
European Union.
AGENDA :-
The initial G20 agenda, as conceived by US, Canadian and German
policymakers, was very much focused on the sustainability of sovereign
debt and global financial stability, in an inclusive format that would bring
in the largest developing economies as equal partners. The recurring
themes covered by G20 summit participants have related in priority to
global economic growth, international trade and financial market
regulation.

The 2023 G20 Delhi summit is the upcoming eighteenth meeting of


Group of Twenty (G20), a summit scheduled to take place in Pragati
Maidan, New Delhi in 2023. It is the first ever G20 summit to behosted
in India.
The G20 New Delhi Summit will be chaired by the Indian Prime Minister,
Narendra Modi. India's presidency began on 1 December 2022, leading
up to the summit in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Theme for 2023 Summit:-
The India’s G20 Presidency would guide the work of the G20 under the
theme of - “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “One Earth · One Family · One
Future” - drawn from the Sanskrit phrase of the Maha Upanishad, which
means "The World Is One Family". Essentially, the theme affirms the
value of all life – human, animal, plant, and microorganisms – and their
interconnectedness on the planet Earth and in the wider universe.

Agenda for 2023 Summit G20 India has put forth six agenda priorities
for the G20 dialogue in 2023:-
• Green Development, Climate Finance & LiFE
• Accelerated, Inclusive & Resilient Growth
• Accelerating progress on SDGs
• Technological Transformation & Digital Public Infrastructure
• Multilateral Institutions for the 21st century
• Women-led development
