Lesson Plan Cerebral Palsy science

This document outlines a semi-detailed lesson plan for a Science 7 class focusing on balanced and unbalanced forces. The lesson includes objectives, subject matter, procedures for instruction, guided and independent practice, evaluation questions, and an assignment for students to identify forces in their daily lives. It also suggests accommodations for students with mild cerebral palsy to ensure engagement and understanding.

A SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE 7

Mild Cerebral Palsy

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, students must be able to:
a. Define balanced and unbalanced forces
b. Identify when forces are balanced or unbalanced
c. Give real-world examples of balanced and unbalanced forces

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Balanced and Unbalanced Forces
References: https://www.academ-e.ph/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Science-CG-2023.pdf
Materials: Tennis ball or similar lightweight ball
Heavy textbook
Whiteboard and markers
Student worksheets
Pencils

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities
- Prayer
- Greetings
- Checking of Attendance

B. Motivation
-Forces are pushes or pulls that act on objects
-Balanced forces: Equal forces acting in opposite directions, resulting in no change in
motion
-Unbalanced forces: Unequal forces causing acceleration or change in motion
-Newton's First Law: Objects stay at rest or in motion unless acted upon by an
unbalanced force

C. Lesson Proper

 Begin with an attention-grabbing demonstration:

 Place a heavy textbook on a desk
 Ask students why the book doesn't fall through the desk
 Introduce the concept of balanced forces (gravity pulling down, desk
pushing up)

Direct Instruction (13 minutes)

1. Define key terms on whiteboard:
- Force: A push or pull on an object
- Balanced forces: Equal forces in opposite directions
- Unbalanced forces: Unequal forces causing movement

2. Show examples:
Dizon, Dwayne S.

- Book on desk (balanced)

- Pushing against a wall (balanced)
- Kicking a ball (unbalanced)
- Tug of war (balanced or unbalanced depending on teams)

Guided Practice (15 minutes)

1. Class activity: "Force Detectives"
- Break students into pairs
- Have them identify 3 examples of balanced forces in the classroom
- Have them identify 3 examples of unbalanced forces
- Share findings with class

2. Demonstration with volunteers:

- Two students push equally on opposite sides of a desk (balanced)
- One student pushes harder than the other (unbalanced)

Independent Practice (10 minutes)

Students complete worksheet with scenarios to identify:
- Is the force balanced or unbalanced?
- What will happen to the object's motion?
- Draw arrows to show force direction
Examples:
1. A book on a table
2. A soccer ball being kicked
3. Two people arm wrestling
4. A hanging picture frame

IV. Evaluation:
Ask the students:
-"What makes forces balanced?"
-"What happens when forces are unbalanced?"
-"Give me an example of balanced forces in your daily life"

V. Assignment

Homework: "Forces in My World"

Students will:
1. Find and describe 3 examples of balanced forces at home
2. Find and describe 3 examples of unbalanced forces at home
3. Draw simple diagrams showing force directions for each example

***-Provide visual aids for force directions

- Allow verbal responses instead of written work
- Pair struggling students with peer helpers
- Provide simplified worksheet versions if neede

Remember: Monitor student engagement throughout the lesson and adjust pacing
as needed
