I. INTRODUCTION
A. Rationale
The "Clean And Green: Cleaning The College Of Engineering-Annex Building" project
is aligned with the objectives of the National Service Training Program (NSTP), which
emphasizes civic consciousness and community service among students. As future engineers,
students are responsible for designing efficient systems and promoting sustainability. This
project encourages them to engage with their surroundings, fostering a culture of environmental
awareness that is critical in today's world. Through hands-on activities, participants will
understand the impact of environmental cleanliness on health and well-being, reinforcing the
NSTP's goal of contributing positively to society.
Moreover, this project will instill a sense of pride in the college and its facilities,
enhancing the aesthetic value of the campus while fostering community spirit. By collaborating
in teams, students will gain essential skills in project planning, resource management, and
teamwork—all of which are integral to their professional development and the NSTP's mission
of preparing students for active citizenship.in conclusion, this initiative will create a cleaner,
greener campus while nurturing responsible citizens committed to the betterment of society.
The location of this study is the College of Engineering (annex) at Benguet State
University. This location has been specifically chosen because it is the primary facility where
engineering students spend a significant amount of their time attending classes, collaborating on
projects, and engaging in practical activities.
The initiative will focus on cleaning and enhancing the interior and exterior areas of the
College of Engineering-Annex building, ensuring that students and faculty benefit from a
well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing environment. The college's facilities, including
classrooms, laboratories, and common areas, are essential learning spaces that support academic
success and collaboration.
