SPL

TOURNAMENT RULES
RULES:
The following rules are made in consultation with an expert team
for the purpose of the tournament. No amendments will be made
to any rules at any point in time during the tournament. The
decision of the umpires and technical expert, will be final and
binding.

General Rules:

1. This Tournament will be Underarm Tournament.

2. Reporting time for all the teams is at 4:30pm.

3. The league will be for 6 over per inning. Final match will be
for 7 over per inning. All matches will be of single inning.

4. Total distance between the two (2) wickets will be normal


18 footsteps in

5. All matches will be played using “Headly Yellow Light”


tennis ball.

6. Each inning will be played with a new tennis ball.

7. All players will have to wear their Team Jersey during their
match.

Fielding:

1. The fielding team has to ensure that the players fielding


position has to be in the following manner : 1 (bowler), 1
(wicket keeper), a maximum of 2 players behind at the
boundary but inside the designated line and maximum 3
players between the bowler and the players at the
boundary

2. Not more than two fielders can be at the boundary at any


given point of time during the match.

3. In case if ball directly goes out of the turf from any


direction, it will be considered as `OUT`.

4. If any part of the fielder`s body touches the boundary net or


the boundary line while the ball is in contact with the body,
then considered as four or six.
5. In case if the ball goes outside the side net (Turf) anywhere
before the boundary line it will be declared as 1 run

Bowling:
1. 1 Bowler can bowl 2 over in each inning in the finals.

2. Ball above the waist line (Full Toss) will be considered as a


`No Ball`.

3. All No Balls will be followed by a free hit.

4. 1 Run each will be allotted for `No Ball` and `Wide Ball`
apart from the run scored in that ball, if any.

5. Batsman will not be considered out for LBW.

6. Umpire`s decision on the pace of the ball (fast ball) will be


final. The umpire can immediately call for deadball
immaterial of any runs scored or fall of wicket in that
particular ball.

7. Any delivery bouncing more than once before the


batsman`s popping crease will be considered as a dead
ball. But the umpire will take a call whether it is a valid
delivery or not.

8. A wide ball will be considered as a wide incase if it bounces


more than once before the batsman’s popping crease.

9. Box will be drawn on the bowling side of the wicket and


bowler will have to bowl within that box & no bowler can
start run up from outside the box. There is no restriction on
leg lifting by the bowler during bowling.

10. Over stepping of the foot beyond bowling crease or


crossing the popping crease line will be considered “No-
Ball” and will be penalized by a Free Hit.

11. Complete rotation of arm (round the shoulder) will not be


allowed during bowling. Bowler cannot hide the ball
behind the body at the time of bowling.

12. The Bowler needs to mention the side from which he/she is
bowling before starting the over and also side-change if any
during the over. Otherwise it will be a no ball.

13. If wicket keeper is changed in the middle of an over the


umpire has to be informed or else it will be a no ball. No
need to inform while changing in between two overs.
14. The wicket keeper can also Bowl.

15. In event of a free hit no positions of the fielder can be


changed.

16. Ball compulsory to be bowled over the middle line, on the


line is also a NO BALL.

17. While bowing side arm action NOT allowed. Bowling action
should NOT be above waist.
Batting:

1. There will be run for overthrows.

2. There will be run for Byes.

3. There will be no runs for Leg Byes.

4. A batsman will have to compulsorily retire upon


scoring/crossing 30 runs in all matches.

5. The Retired batsman can come to bat again (in order of


First in, First-Out) in the event of all other batsman in the
team being out.

6. The team`s innings will be completed at the fall of all


wickets. There is no last man rule.

7. Runners allowed for the batsman in consent with opponent


teams captain and committee.

8. The Appeal for Pace or Low ball will be that of the batsman,
but to be concurred by for the umpire. Umpire decision will
be final in this case. The bowler will be given a warning at
first and if bowled fast again it will be a no ball.

In case of tie in league matches a super over will be


played in in which the team getting highest run will be
declared as winner.
Cricket is known to be a Gentlemen`s game and no player
is bigger than the game. All the players are expected to
show True Sportsman spirit.

UMPIRE DECISION WILL BE FINAL IN ALL PROCEEDINGS OF


THE GAME.
