Rational This course prepares the students with the basic understanding of AC
Electrical Machines and also special machines. It develops the ability for
analyzing the working principle and characteristics of different types of AC
machines, and also prepares them for controlling the output of the machines.
Course objective a) To understand the construction and operational principle of different AC
machines and special machines.
b) To get the ability of controlling the output of the machines.
c) To learn the applications of those machines
Course Synopsis This course introduces the students to the basic construction of different
types of AC machines and special machines, principles of operations,
equivalent circuit representation, and power stages. It familiarizes the
students with different types of control techniques to control the outputs of
the machines, and also the impact of the loads on the machines. The course
also focuses on various numerical problem solution techniques for electrical
machines. It enables the students to compare between different types of
machines, and to learn about the applications of the machines.
