Syllable Types
A syllable is a word part that has 1 vowel sound.

1 Closed:
Has 1 vowel that makes a short sound followed by a consonant.

Open:
Has 1 vowel that makes a long sound without a consonant after it.

3 Sneaky -E (VCE):
Has 1 vowel that makes a long sound
followed by a consonant and an -e that makes the vowel say its
name.

R-Controlled:
Has 1 or 2 vowels followed by an -r that takes control.

Don’t divide words that only have Divide BEFORE the suffix.
