5. As the situation permits, try out the resources/materials with the students. Be sure to
follow the steps on using instructional material found in the infographics section of
this episode.

After you participated or assisted in using resources/instructional materials in

teaching-learning, described what you observed and experienced by answering the items
below.
1. How did you prepare for this activity?

I made sure I understood the lesson well and reviewed the resources, like the graphing

calculator and word problems. I also planned how to explain the resources to the students

and how they would use them in the lesson.

2. Describe how you or the teacher utilized the resources/ instructional materials.
Narrate your experience as you participated and assisted.

The teacher used the graphing software to show how the graphs of quadratic equations

looked. I helped students as they worked with the software and graph paper, guiding them to

plot the functions correctly. I also walked around and assisted students who needed help

understanding how to find the vertex or identify key points on the graph.

3. What were you feelings and thoughts while you were assisting with the use of the
resources/materials?
I felt excited and confident because the resources were engaging and allowed students to

explore the topic more easily. I also thought that using different tools helped make abstract

concepts more concrete for the students. It was rewarding to see students understanding the

lesson better through hands-on practice.

4. Describe how the students responded and participated?

The students were engaged and interested. They actively used the graphing software and
asked questions when they needed help. Some students were excited to see how the
graphs changed with different equations, and they worked well in pairs, helping each other
with the activities. Overall, they were focused and participated eagerly in the lesson.

Analyz
e
1. What worked well during the activity using the resources/materials?
The students were engaged and actively participated. The graphing software helped them
visualize the quadratic equations, making it easier for them to understand the concept. The
students enjoyed the hands-on experience, which allowed them to learn by doing.

2. What part can be improved?

Some students had trouble using the graphing software at first, and they needed more time
to become familiar with the tool. Also, a few students struggled with the concepts of finding
the vertex and axis of symmetry, which could have been explained more clearly.
3. What would you have done differently? What would I changed? What will make it
better next time?
Next time, I would spend more time explaining how to use the graphing software before the
students start the activity. I would also give more examples of quadratic equations with clear
steps to help students understand how to plot them correctly. A short review of the key
concepts before the activity would also be helpful.
4. How does this connect with what you know about selecting and using
instructional materials?
Using instructional materials like graphing software and practice problems helps students
visualize abstract concepts and engage with the material. It’s important to choose resources
that are interactive, clear, and aligned with the lesson objectives, as they support deeper
understanding and active learning.

Reflec
1. How ready am I to select and develop resources/instructional materials in the
teaching-learning process?
I feel that I am ready to select and develop resources, but I still need to gain more
experience in creating materials that are both engaging and effective. I am confident
in choosing resources that match the learning goals, but I want to improve in making
them more interactive and diverse.
2. What do I will need to learn to select and develop resources/instructional
materials in teaching effectivity?
I need to learn how to adapt resources for different learning styles and abilities. I also
need to understand how to use technology more effectively and find ways to
incorporate various types of media, like videos, interactive tools, and hands-on
activities, to engage students.
3. What can I do to learn more about and practice the use of resources and
instructional materials?
To improve, I can attend workshops or training on creating educational materials. I
could also observe experienced teachers and ask them about the resources they use
in their classrooms. Practicing by creating and using different materials in my lessons
will also help me gain more experience.

This part allows you to synthesize or put together what you noticed, analyzed and
reflected on to come up with a possible topic to explore for an action research.
1. OBSERVE
Doing this episode on selecting and using resources/instructional materials, what
problematic situation/challenges/area of improvement did I find?
While selecting and using resources, I found that I faced challenges in choosing
materials that engage all learning styles and levels of ability. Some resources were
too complex for some students, while others didn't fully cover the lesson's key
concepts.
2. REFLECT.

Differentiated Instruction: Strategies for I discovered that by differentiating

Every Student resources and materials, teachers can meet
the needs of students with different abilities,
ensuring that all students can learn
effectively and at their own pace.

On what theories /principles can this problem be anchored? This problem can be
anchored on Vygotsky's Social Development Theory, which emphasizes the
importance of scaffolding and providing support based on students' current abilities.
It also relates to Multiple Intelligences Theory by Howard Gardner, which suggests
that people learn in different ways, and therefore resources need to be varied to meet
these diverse learning styles.
What do I hope to achieve to address the challenge/area of improvement? What
change do I want to achieve? I hope to improve the selection and use of instructional
materials by making them more engaging and accessible to all students. The goal is
to provide resources that cater to different learning styles and abilities, ensuring that
every student can understand and connect with the lesson content.

3. PLAN.
What strategies/solution/means can I employ to improve the situation/solve the
problem?
To improve the situation, I will try using a variety of resources such as interactive
videos, hands-on materials, and digital tools that align with the learning objectives. I
will also work on personalizing resources to fit different learning styles, encouraging
active participation, and providing clear, simple explanations to make the lesson
easier to understand for everyone.
