Despite facing intense artillery and machine-gun fire, my men and I advanced with unwavering determination. We encountered fierce resistance, and many brave soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice. However, our resolve never wavered. With strategic maneuvers and relentless courage, we breached the enemy defenses. I personally led from the front, inspiring my men to push forward despite the overwhelming odds. We held our position throughout the night and successfully repelled several counter-attacks. For our exceptional bravery and steadfast commitment, I was awarded the Param Vir Chakramedal, India's highest military honor. My journey with the Grenadiers has been one of dedication, camaraderie, and unwavering commitment to our nation. Under extreme weather conditions and in treacherous terrain, we advanced stealthily and overcame fierce resistance. With relentless courage and determination, we cleared the enemy bunkers one by one, securing the post. For my exceptional bravery and leadership, I was awarded the Param Vir Chakra medal , India's highest military honor. During the Sri Lankan Civil War, on November 25th, 1987, my unit was ambushed by militants while returning from a search operation. With cool presence of mind, I encircled the militants from the rear and charged into them, taking them completely by surprise. Despite being shot in the chest, I snatched a militant's rifle and shot him dead. Gravely wounded, I continued to give orders and inspire my command until I breathed my last. For my exceptional bravery and supreme sacrifice, I was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra medal, India's highest military honor. My journey with the Mahar Regiment has been one of unwavering commitment, resilience, and teamwork.
