Guidelinesfor 23

The document outlines guidelines for students to follow for the second and third reviews of their B-Tech IV-II semester computer science projects. For the second review, presentations should include the existing system, proposed algorithms, UML diagrams, a design plan, and references. It must be a minimum of 15 slides presented within 20 minutes. For the third review, presentations should recap the previous review, explain the implementation method, programming language features used, a flow of project execution with screenshots, performance results, and references. Students must come dressed formally and structure presentations according to the guidelines.

B-Tech IV-II Sem Regular Guidelines for 2nd Review (Design part)
Presentation should reflect entire project design and implementation pseudo code including algorithms for IEEE papers. The existing system algorithms also should be explained in the base paper with flow chart if UML diagrams are not available. Shall explain how the project is going to be implemented(simulation or implementation) Shall mention the tools that are to be used in your project with their features. The presentation should contain minimum 15 slides. The title slide should contain student name and guide name in a proper manner. Each presentation will be given 20 minutes duration.(Strictly adhere to duration) Each one should bring hard copies of base paper and also abstract and SRS or design soft copy is not mandatory. Students should come for the presentation in business formals to the schedule time if any changes or problems in presenting seminar please consult the project in charge Mr. V.Pradeep Kumar , Asst Professor . The flow of slides in the presentation as follows: 1. Title slide 2. Abstract (Write the abstract as defined in the first review) 3. Introduction of domain (This part to show continuity of the presentation) 4. Existing methodology or algorithm 5. Drawbacks or disadvantages 6. Algorithms in proposed system 7. (System) Design should be supported by all UML diagrams /DFD/FLOW CHART 8. Plan of implementing the project (Explain simulation/Implementation details) 9. References (Required and write as per IEEE standards)

Note: 2, 3, 4, and 5 might be put on three slides but an abstract overview of first review should be explained in briefly.

Guidelines for III Review (coding & Execution /Results)

1. Recap/Debrief of II Review (Abstract, Algorithm, Use case diagram). 2. Shall explain how the project is implemented (simulation or implementation). 3. Explain the features of programming language used to implement/Simulation. 4. Well defined flow of project execution with the help of screen shots. 5. Discuss performance issues/Results as given in the base paper. 6. Conclusion 7. References

Note: All should come in formals for presentation. Structure properly your presentations as per the guidelines Adhere to the schedule.
Programming language features means not the basics, it has to be:

1. If you are using database then explain JDBC/ADO.net in brief. 2. If you are using network related then explain networking support from the language like java.net or language dependent. 3. The open source project students no need to include this part as they are already said about this. 4. If you are not using any programming language directly, instead any simulator, then explain about simulation environment. 5. Regarding the performance issues, you discuss with your guides and finalize the content;

Note: Complete Documentation of soft copy and hard copy of spiral binding need to be submitted with duly signed by internal guides on or before 12th April 2012.
