As good citizenship promotes active engagement with civic
responsibility, it leads to the sensible practice of rights a citizen is given.
As well as through balancing our rights and responsibilities, we can
contribute to the betterment of society. Likewise, in volunteering, we
recognize the needs of the community, letting us provide solutions that
will contribute to the common good and let one be the person to raise
awareness about the concept of marginalization in society. In essence, the
three concepts intersect and reinforce each other, leading to a well-
fostered, cohesive community and social well-being. Wherein it can be
generally stated that good citizenship directs the responsible practice of
rights and success of obligations, while volunteerism became the space of
practical execution of the following principles and duties.

Bayanihan
In the culture of Bayanihan, Filipinos
come together to do a task or give
help willingly to those people in need,
and as more people join this value, it
the easier for others to accomplish
what they need to do to provide help
for other people.
Pagkakaisa
Through unity, Filipinos
come together as one to
work on one vision that
mainly tackles overcoming
societal issues or
challenges.
pakikipagkapwa
It builds a social
foundation that
brings people
together to promote
the common good to
each other.

THE PHILIPPINE
FLAG
The Philippine flag symbolizes the independence of the country
from being the colony of the Spanish Government. For Filipinos, it
signifies pride, bravery, and honor baring the local’s devotion to their
motherland. Moreover, it depicts the Filipinos’ nature of resiliency.
THINGS TO DO
WHEN THE FLAG IS
PLAYED
According to Republic Act No. 8491, Chapter 1,
Section 1, during the flag-raising ceremony,
everyone present should stand in formation,
facing the flag. As soon as the first note of the
national anthem is played, all individuals
within the area must come to attention, and
any moving vehicles must stop. All attendees
are required to place their right hand over their
chest, while those wearing hats should remove
them. Meanwhile, individuals in uniforms,
such as those in the military, scouting, security
services, or citizens' military training, should
give the salute as prescribed by their
regulations. The salute is to be held and
completed only after the last note of the
anthem has been played.

OVERVIEW
ABOUT VOTING
In smaller organizations, voting can
occur in many different ways: formally
via ballot to elect others for example
within a workplace, to elect members of
political associations, or to choose roles
for others; or informally with a spoken
agreement or a gesture like a raised
hand, or electronically.
OVERVIEW
ABOUT VOTING
Voting is a method by which a group, such as
a meeting or an electorate, convenes
together for the purpose of making a
collective decision or expressing an opinion
usually following discussions, debates for
election campaigns. Democracies elect
holders of high office by voting. Residents of
a jurisdiction represented by an elected
official are called "constituents", and the
constituents who choose to cast a ballot for
their chosen candidate are called "voters."
