Class: Viii
Unit: I (Islamic Belief)
Lesson#2 (IMAN)
Q-1: What is Iman and what are its conditions?
Ans: "Iman and Its Conditions"
The "IMAN" means belief or faith. In a broad sense, Iman
means belief in the heart, declaration by the tongue and
implementation by physical facilities.
There are two conditions of Iman which are:
i- Correct Belief
ii- Practical action(amal)

Q-2: What are some of the sayings Of the Muslim

Scholars about iman?
Ans: Saying of the Muslim Scholar,

Sufyan ath-Thwri said.

"Faith is useless without action. And action and speech is
not valid with intention and no speech, action or intention
acceptable unless it is in accordance with the Sunnah".

Al-Hassan-al-Basri said:
“Iman is not a matter of adornment for wishful thinking
rather, it is that which settles in the heart and is confirmed
by action.”
Q-3: What is the importance of Iman?
Ans: "Importance of Iman'
Faith is in varied amounts. By virtue of little faith, Allah, the
Almighty, will bring forth from Hell some of those who
enter it. A man with Iman in his heart a size of a mustard
grain will eventually enter Paradise.
Rusulullah (S-A.W) said
"That was Jibril who came to me and said" whoever
among your followers die without associating a
partner with Allah will enter in Paradise.
(Al-Bukhri and Muslim).

Q#4. What is the relationship between Iman and

Aqidah?
Ans: "Relationship between Iman and Aqidah'
Iman is a part of Aqidah It has over seventy branches and
Aqidah is the base of Iman Belief is deeply rooted in the
heart while deed is one's external performance.
Aqidah is the root of religion and Iman is its branch. Iman
is like a strong tree that is firmly rooted in good soil. It has
branches of leaves rising into the sky and bearing
abundant fruits for every one by the grace of its Lord. Its
base is Aqidah which is deeply rooted in the heart and its
trunk branches and leaves are deeds and action.

Q#5 What is the Importance of Amal?

Ans: "Importance of Amal"
Belief is deeply rooted in the heart while "Amal" is one's
external performance.
Iman is like a strong tree that is firmly rooted in a good
soul. If the roots are removed or rotten or dried up from a
tree, the tree will no longer flourish. Similarly, Iman will no
longer exist if the correct Aqidah is taken away if the trunk
or branches are cut, the tree will be weakened and die
because the trunk is essential for the existence of the tree.
Similarly if deeds are neglected then Iman will be reduced
and destroyed.

Mark Right or Wrong:
