IMPORTANT NOTICE:
1. Please check the BIOS version first before starting. For Misano, the tested BIOS version is
05.12.09.0018. DO NOT start software installation if the BIOS version is lower. Refer to
APPENDIX F on how to upgrade BIOS.
2. You must do Dump Trace Log before starting on an existing production machine.
3. Maybank 6623 ATM is using KEY MODE = 4 and the EPP firmware is INTL_.
5. Maybank 6623 ATM AANDC settings are as below. There are 2 ATM configurations. So, please ask
and confirm with the bank on which configuration to use. NCR does not know, only the bank
knows. Using the wrong configuration can cause financial loss and dispute.

Make sure the EPP layout is as shown below where the Cancel button (red color) is on top and the Clear
button (yellow color) is in the middle.
Important Note: The update is a two-step process, first to update the BIOS (Step 1 to 5) and then to
update the Intel CSME firmware (Step 6 to 10).
1. Insert the USB drive into the PC core and reboot the ATM
2. Once the ATM powers off tap the F8 key continually until the NCR logo appears on screen with
confirmation of the key press
5. The PC will apply the BIOS update. The PC will reboot following the BIOS update.
6. Once the ATM powers off again tap the F8 key continually until the NCR logo appears on screen with
confirmation of the key press
9. The PC will check the BIOS version to confirm it is the latest and will then proceed to update the Intel
CSME firmware
10. When the CSME firmware update is complete the PC will reboot

2. Insert the USB thumb drive into a USB port on the target ATM core
4. During POST (when NCR logo appears) press F8 to enter BBS menu
7. The system will boot to the USB drive and automatically perform the BIOS update
a. NB: The PC core will automatically reboot into a secure shell to perform the BIOS update

8. Once the BIOS update process is complete the PC core will reboot again, on this reboot sequence
press F8 during POST (when NCR logo appears) to enter the BBS menu again
11. The PC will apply the BIOS update. The PC will reboot following the BIOS update.
12. Once the ATM powers off again tap the F8 key continually until the NCR logo appears on screen with
confirmation of the key press.
14. Select the USB drive from the list of bootable devices
15. The PC will check the BIOS version to confirm it is the latest and will then proceed to update the
Intel CSME firmware
16. When the CSME firmware update is complete the PC will reboot
17. If the passwords have been reset to NCR default password, remember to ask the bank officer to set
back their passwords
18. Once BIOS upgrade is completed, please change Boot Type to UEFI
