1. Labelling a diagram (Reading)

- Find where the picture(s) is/are dealt with in the passage (Tìm xem hình ảnh
được đề cập ở đâu trong đoạn văn).
- Find words in the passage that mean the same as the words already on the
diagram (Tìm các từ trong đoạn văn có nghĩa giống với các từ đã có trên sơ
đồ).
- Decide what type(s) of word you need for each gap (Xác định loại từ bạn cần
cho mỗi chỗ trống).
- Underline the word(s) you need in the passage and copy it/them exactly (Gạch
chân từ bạn cần trong đoạn văn và sao chép y hệt từ đó).

2. Labelling a diagram (Listening)

- Look at the diagram and decide what type(s) of word you need (Nhìn vào sơ

- Look at the words on the diagram and listen for similar words and phrases to

- Underline the key idea in each question to help you focus on the meaning

Answer these questions:

Make sure you compare information in the table and the chart.

Sample answer
The table and chart show the percentages of commuters using different modes
of transport in Hanston, Texas, their average age, and how much carbon
dioxide each type of traveller produces.
→ Start by introducing the summary. Refer to both pieces of data, but use
your own words as far as possible.

The most popular form of transport is the car, with 48 percent of people
travelling to work alone and a further 11 percent sharing cars to work. On the
other hand, 37 percent of commuters use trains or buses, while just 4 percent
cycle or walk.
Commuters using public transport are, at 47, on average three or four years
older than people using private cars and these, at 43 or 44, are four or five
years older than those who walk or cycle.
People travelling alone by car produce the most carbon dioxide, slightly more
than 0.3 kilos per person per kilometre. By comparison, people who share
transport produce 0.08 kilos, whereas those using public transport produce
only a tiny amount.

Overall, the most popular form of transport, the car, is also the one which
produces the most pollution.
