ASSIGNMENT NO. 02

Marks: 10 Session: Fall 2019 Submission Date: 07 -06-2022

Candidates are required to give their answers in their own words as far as practicable.

Complex Engineering Problem

High Voltage Technology (ET-323)

Total Marks= 10

CLOs: 1, 2, 3

Design a HV system for 1000 KV with complex structure of equipment of protection. You must
oversize the system to calculate the total power output rating to overcome the load shedding of
your specific areas. Straight and linear load should be considered. Now calculate the number of
stages to reach at 1000 KV.

Parameter s for calculations:

Frequency= 50 Hz

Capacity for each stage= 2 µF

Current at each stage= 100 mA

Note:

1. Number of stages must be selected according to your area

2. High voltage measurements through HVAC system
