CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

1.1 Preamble

We, the members of Excel Learning Primary School Academy, believing in the importance of
education and the well-being of our students, establish this Constitution as the foundation for our
school's governance, operations, and community.

1.2 Mission Statement

The mission of Excel Learning Primary School Academy is to provide a nurturing environment
that fosters academic excellence, creativity, and character development, empowering our
students to become responsible, confident, and compassionate individuals.

1.3 Vision Statement

Our vision is to be a leading primary school academy, recognized for excellence in teaching,
learning, and community engagement, where every student thrives and reaches their full
potential.

1.4 Objectives

The objectives of Excel Learning Primary School Academy are:


a) To provide high-quality education, aligned with national curriculum standards.

b) To promote a culture of respect, inclusivity, and diversity.

c) To foster partnerships with parents, guardians, and the community.

d) To ensure a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment.

e) To encourage innovation, creativity, and critical thinking.

f) To develop leadership and life skills in our students.

1.5 Interpretation

This Constitution shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of [Country/State/Province]

CHAPTER 2: DEFINITION AND INTERPRETATION

2.1 Definitions

For the purposes of this Constitution, the following terms shall have the following meanings:

a) "The Academy" refers to Excel Learning Primary School Academy.

b) "The Governing Body" refers to the Board of Directors/Trustees or equivalent governing


authority.

c) "The Headteacher" refers to the chief executive officer of the Academy.

d) "Teachers" refer to all teaching staff employed by the Academy.

e) "Support Staff" refer to non-teaching staff employed by the Academy.

f) "Students" refer to all enrolled pupils of the Academy.

g) "Parents/Guardians" refer to individuals with legal responsibility for students.

h) "Community" refers to the broader stakeholders, including parents, guardians, alumni, and
local residents.
2.2 Interpretation

a) This Constitution shall be interpreted in a manner consistent with the objectives and mission
of the Academy.

b) Headings and subheadings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.

c) The singular includes the plural, and vice versa.

d) References to legislation or policies include subsequent amendments.

e) Any ambiguity or uncertainty shall be resolved by the Governing Body.

2.3 Conflict Resolution

In the event of conflict between this Constitution and:

a) National or local laws, the laws shall prevail.

b) Policies or regulations, this Constitution shall prevail unless specified otherwise.

c) Other documents or agreements, this Constitution shall take precedence.


CHAPTER 3: MEMBERSHIP AND STRUCTURE

3.1 Categories of Membership

The Academy shall have the following categories of membership:

a) Student Members: enrolled pupils of the Academy.

b) Teacher Members: teaching staff employed by the Academy.

c) Support Staff Members: non-teaching staff employed by the Academy.

d) Parent/Guardian Members: individuals with legal responsibility for students.

e) Community Members: alumni, local residents, and other stakeholders.

f) Honorary Members: individuals recognized for outstanding contributions.

3.2 Membership Criteria

Membership criteria shall be as follows:

d) Parent/Guardian Members: support students, engage with the Academy.
