Demography
( Key demographic indicators for Telangana, based on the 2011 census, include a population of 3.50 Crore, a sex ratio of 988, and a literacy rate of
66.5%. The population, which was almost evenly divided between males and females, is projected to grow to 3.86 Crore by 2026.
Infrastructure
( Telangana’s total contracted capacity of electricity was 19,576 MW of which 6,485 MW is generated by TGGENCO.
( Total length of the roads in the state is 1.10 lakh KM including National Highways, Road & Buildings, Panchayat Raj and GHMC departments.
( 9.76 lakh vehicles registered in 2023-24. And there are 5,034 schedule banks as on first quarter 2024-25.
Economy
( Telangana’s GSDP at Current Prices was Rs. 15,01,981 Crore as per 2023-24 Provisional Estimates(PE). State share accounted for 5.1 % of the
GDP of India.
( The growth rate of Telangana’s GSDP at 14.5 % was the highest amongst the Non- Special Category States (NSC).
( Per Capita Income in Telangana was Rs.3,56,564 as per 2023-24 (PE)
School Education
( Total Number of Schools during 2023-24 in Telangana is 40,975 of which 20,539 are primary, 7,482 are upper primary and 11,561 are high
schools , 1,393 are Higher secondary schools.
( Drop out rate (2023-24) for primary grades is -2.23 %, upper primary is 0.34 % and for high schools is 11.95 %.
( Gross Enrollment Ratio (2022-23) for primary is 110 %, Upper Primary is 107 %, High school is 95 %.
Animal Husbandary
( As per the 2023-24 provisional estimates, Telangana produced 57.22 lakh tonnes of milk, 10.97 lakh tonnes of meat, and 184 crore eggs.
( Total production of inland fish and prawns in the year 2023-24 was 4.39 lakh tonnes and 16,532 tonnes respectively.
( Livestock sector contributes 7.4 % to GSDP and 46.71 % to the agriculture sector as per 2023-24 Advanced estimates.
Industry
( Telangana's industrial sector made significant contributions to India's economy in 2022-23. The state accounted for 3.37% of the nation's total
industrial Gross Value Added (GVA). Additionally, Telangana accounted 5.16% of all factories in India, securing the 8th rank among all states and
union territories.
( The state ranked 9th in terms of contribution to the national Industrial GVA and 7th position in terms of the number of workers employed in formal
manufacturing amongst all states and Uts.
Health
( 2,08,950 MCH kits distributed and 3,55,494 individuals benefited under Arogyasri scheme in the state during 2023-24.
( 1.76 % of children are malnourished. 71.4 % Women and 74.8 % Children received Supplementary nutrition during 2023-24.
Social Security
( During 2023-24, Cheyutha pensions covered more than 44.10 lakh individuals, and Telangana has a total of 89.97 lakh BPL cards.

( Over 39.57 lakh beneficiaries have received LPG cylinders under the Mahalakshmi Scheme
( Telangana Government has spent Rs. 808.33 Crore on Gruha Jyothi scheme as on 31-08-2024
