A ‘Keep Calm and Crochet On U.K.

’ Pattern

for resale. Easy

Materials:
300g of DK yarn (8 ply) - For the best affect you will
need at least two/three different colours.

Pattern will work in other yarns though gauge/size will


be different.

Crochet hook: 4 mm (US size G)

Gauge:
4 clusters = 3 inches / 7.6 cm

CHECK YOUR GAUGE, use any size hook to obtain


gauge.

Finished rectangular blanket measures:


draw through remaining two loops on hook.
32 x 40 inches / 81.2 x 101.6cm
Three Treble / Double Crochet together
For smaller / preemie sized blanket: Start with 19 ch
(tr/dc3tog): Yarn over, insert hook in st indicated
instead of 35 then follow pattern for 17 rnds then edge.
and draw up a loop (three loops on hook), yarn
Finished size 15 x 19 inches / 38.5 x 48.7 cm
over, draw through two loops, yarn over, insert hook
in same st, (four loops on hook), yarn over, draw
Abbreviations: through two loops, (three loops on hook), yarn over,
insert hook in same st, (five loops on hook), yarn
st(s) = stitch(es) over, draw through two loops, (four loops on hook),
sl st = slip stitch yarn over, draw through remaining four loops on
ch = chain hook.
dc/sc = UK double crochet / US single crochet
tr/dc = UK treble / US double crochet
cl = cluster of three UK trebles / three US double Pattern:
crochet
tr/dc3tog = Three UK treble / Three US double Rnd 1: With Yarn A, Ch 35, 2 tr/dc in 4th ch from
crochet together hook (counts as first cluster), * miss 2 sts, 1 cl in
next st * repeat from * to * to last st, then ch 2, 1 cl
in same st, ch 2, another cl in same st. Now work-
Stitch Guidance: ing back along the other side of the ch **miss 2 sts
and cl in next st (directly under previous cl) ** repeat
Slip Stitch (sl st): Insert hook in st indicated, yarn ** to ** to last st, then ch 2, 1 cl in same st, ch 2,
over and draw through all loops. another cl in same st, sl st to top of beginning ch to
join. Finish off and weave in ends.
Double Crochet/Single Crochet (dc/sc): Insert hook
in st indicated and draw up a loop (two loops on hook), Rnd 2: Attach a contrasting coloured Yarn B to any
yarn over, draw through both loops on hook. corner 2 ch sp, ch 1 (counts as 1 dc/sc), ch 3, 1dc/
sc into same ch sp, * ch 3, miss 1 cl, 1 dc/sc into the
Treble / Double Crochet (tr/dc): Yarn over, insert space between the next cl sts * repeat from * to *
hook in next st and draw up a loop (three loops on with 1 dc/sc, 3 ch, 1 dc/sc in the same ch 2 sp for
hook), yarn over, draw through two loops, yarn over, 1

and weave in ends.

Rnd 3: Reattach Yarn A to any 3 ch corner sp, ch 3


(counts as first tr/dc), 2 tr/dc into same sp, ch 2,
1 cl into same sp, * 1 cl into each 3 ch sp along, with 1
cl, 2 ch, 1 cl in each corner * repeat * to * to end, sl st
to top of beginning ch to join. Finish off and weave in
ends.

Rnd 4 - 37: Repeat rows 2 and 3 ending on a cluster


row.

Edging:
Rnd 1: With edging colour repeat row 2 and 3.

Rnd 2: Sl st in-between your nearest two clusters then


ch 8, then tr/dc3tog in 4th ch from hook to make a
bobble, ch 2, sl st to 2nd ch from bobble, ch 2 and sl st
between the next two clusters, repeat all the way
around the blanket till the end, sl st to join. Finish off
and weave in ends.
