Word practical lesson
This is a practical assessment designed to evaluate your word processing skills. Each section
will build upon the previous one, gradually increasing in complexity. Please follow the
instructions carefully and save your document frequently.
Part 1: Basic Text and Formatting (10 points)
1. Create a new document and save it as "WordProcessingAssessment.docx".
2. Type the following text:
“The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."
3. Format the text as follows:
Font: Arial
Font Size: 14
Make the word "fox" bold.
Make the word "lazy" italic.
Underline the word "dog".
Center the entire sentence on the page.
Part 2: Paragraph and Page Formatting (15 points)
1. Below the sentence from Part 1, type the following
paragraph:
“Word processing is an essential skill in today's digital world. It
allows users to create, edit, and format documents efficiently.
Mastering word processing software can significantly improve
productivity and communication."
2. Format the paragraph as follows:
Justify the paragraph.
Set the line spacing to 1.5.
Indent the first line of the paragraph by 0.5 inches.
Set the top and bottom margins of the document to 1 inch and the left and right margins
to 1.25 inches.
Insert a header with your name on the right side of the page.
Insert a footer with the page number in the center.
Part 3: Tables and Lists (20 points)
1. Below the paragraph from Part 2, insert a table with 3 columns and 4 rows.
2. Enter the following data into the table:
Item Quantity Price
Laptop 1 $1200
Keyboard 2 $50
Mouse 3 $25
3. Format the table as follows:
Apply a table style of your choice.
Bold the header row (Item, Quantity, Price).
Center the data in each cell.
4. Below the table, create a bulleted list of 5 common word processing features
below:
Spell check, Mail merge, Styles, Tables, Headers and footers
