But First…. A little backround….
The Waygate Videoprobe Insertion Tube
Manufactured for the highest possible durability through design
features such as a titanium camera head, tungsten braid, 4th
generation steering cables and laser welded joints.

Baker Hughes Confidential

10
The Insertion Tube is not a Cord (or a whip, or a line)
•It is not infinitely flexible.
•When it starts to push back…. Stop
bending it.

Over flexing the insertion tube will cause the internal

steel monocoil to deform, or kink, resulting in loss of
articulation, light transmission loss and/or camera
failure. Keep it round.

Baker Hughes Confidential

11
Keep it Clean

1. After use, clean the insertion tube using a soft clean cloth dampened with clean
water.
2. If a stronger cleaner is needed, use isopropyl alcohol no more concentrated than
70%.
3. To clean an insertion tube that is oily, the best cleaning results are obtained using
diluted standard dish soaps which contain surfactants to break the bond between
the oils and insertion tube surfaces.

4. If the probe has significant oil around the tip.... clean as thoroughly as
possible before removing the tip.
5. Be smart. If it isn’t good for you, it isn’t good for your scope.

When a tip has been removed, use a soft cloth or Q-Tip to
clean dirt from the insertion tube threads. In the lower left

Storing your system

31
Key Point

If you must leave your work area, store

the system in the case and close the
lid.

One of the most common ways these

systems are broken is by untrained,
curious people using the probe in
improper ways.

Baker Hughes Confidential

32
A word of advice

• Always operate and store your

system with a tip attached.
• Operating or storing a probe without
a tip will cause damage to the
integral lens and result in major
repairs.
• No need to change tips when you
store the probe. (I’m talking to you,
longtime Olympus user)

3DPM/3D Stereo: System Accuracy Check – Verification Block

Measurement Summary:
A Verification Block check provides an indication of the system’s ability to provide accurate
measurements
Measurement Process:
1. Insert probe into proper (forward or side) chamber
of Verification Block, depending on installed tip.
2. Perform a 3D capture
3. Select Measurement
4. Select Point-to-Line or Length Measurement
5. The system will automatically inform you of the
length or point-to-line measurement results
Note:
The results for the 0.100” target should be 0.097” to 0.103”.
If the results are out of this range, the tip requires re-
calibration
