WORK PERMIT
There are two major types of work permits:

The Open Work Permit, under which


programs such as the International
Experience Canada and The International
Mobility Program operates;

The Employer-Specific Work Permit


under which numerous streams are
processed depending on the applicants
job offer.
Employer-specific work permits or closed work permits are issued to temporary workers. They allow you
to work in Canada according to the specific conditions on your work permit, which include:

1. the name of the employer you can work for;


2. how long you can work; and
3. the location where you can work

You need to submit a work permit application with all the required documents to the IRCC, including the
following documents:

1. Valid job offer letter;


2. Proof that you meet the requirements of the job offer;
3. Copy of a positive LMIA or LMIA number;
4. Medical examination;

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
