 “Android is a mobile operating system based on a modified version of the Linux kernel
and other open-source software, designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such
as smartphones and tablets.”
 “Android is developed by a consortium of developers known as the Open Handset
Alliance and commercially sponsored by Google.”
 “It was unveiled in November 2007, with the first commercial Android device, the HTC
Dream, being launched in September 2008.”
 An android can also be classified as a smart phone but a smart phone cannot be
classified as a android.
 These two words through related are quite different from each other.

Objective of the Activity Done:

Finding advantageous and disadvantageous of android

Detailed Report:
 The first thing I did is ask my friends and family how is an android useful to them.
 Most of them gave the answer that an android is cheap and easy to use, many of them
bought an android in the first place because it is affordable.
 Some bought an android after checking all it’s feature’s before buying an android and
some after buying an android. I wanted to know what advantages and disadvantages an
android has so,
 I searched through internet and found some advantages of android which are:
Multitasking, Excellent software support, Frequent OS updated, Android type of phone
can also function as a router to share internet , Can installed and modify RAM , An
Android-based product will cheaper than its propriety , Support all google services ,
With the google chrome, you can open many windows at once.
 And I also searched for disadvantages of an android which are: Need internet
connection, Sometimes slow devices , Wasteful battery , Very unstable , Advertising
facility disturb you , Difficult to modify , Many application contains a virus ,
Advertising facility disturb you , Difficult to modify , Many application contains a virus.
 It is difficult to say whether Android devices have more advantages or disadvantages
compared to other types of devices, as the answer can vary depending on the specific
device and its feature’s. In general, Android devices offer a range of benefits, including
a wide selection of apps and games, the ability to customize the device with different
home screens and settings, and support for a variety of hardware and software. However,
they may also have some disadvantages, such as less consistent support for updates and
security patches, and a higher potential for malware and other types of security threats.

WEEKLY REPORT
WEEK – 3 (From Dt 06-11-2022 to Dt 12-11-2022)

Objective of the Activity Done:

Why people use an android or devices other than android
Detailed Report:
 After finding about android users in my friends and family I wanted to know just how
many people use an android device.
 So I started asking as many people as I can what device are they using and most of them
said they are using android while some of them use an iPhone.
 I asked them why did they bought an android most of theusers had the same reason
cheap and has many different feature’s .
 And when I asked the same question to iPhone users they said it has strong security and
privacy feature’s , and the ability to easily sync with other Apple products. Additionally,
iPhones are known for their high-quality cameras, long battery life, and support for a
variety of feature’s like facial recognition and augmented reality
 I also asked what is the difference between iPhone and android that they know about and
most of them said security and camera
 So I searched the same question on the internet and found:
“There are several key differences between Android and iPhone devices. One of the
main differences is the operating system that each device uses. Android devices use the
Android operating system, which is developed by Google and based on the Linux
kernel. iPhone devices, on the other hand, use the iOS operating system, which is
developed by Apple. Another difference is the type of hardware that each device uses.
Android devices are made by a variety of manufacturers, which means they can come in
a range of sizes and designs, and can be equipped with different types of hardware and
feature’s. iPhones, on the other hand, are only made by Apple, so they tend to have a
more consistent design and set of feature’s. Additionally, Android devices often offer
more customization options and a wider range of apps and games, while iPhones are
known for their smooth and user-friendly design and strong security and privacy
feature’s.”

Objective of the Activity Done:

Finding the impact android made in our daily life
Detailed Report:
 I asked people if an android made any changes to their lifestyle
 And middle-aged people answered that it took the place of an alarm clock and replaced the
camera , calculator , and so on making it easier to access the android device they use like an all
in one rather carrying and using one gadget for every little thing
 For older people it replaced a letter rather than writing a letter and waiting for it to reach and to
return they can send messages faster and receive responses faster

 For teenagers and for children it’s a great item to pass time with.

 So I asked those people a question “After making an android a part of your life can you spend
a day without your android ”.

 And most of them answered “No!” and the remaining answered they can try but cannot
guarantee it.

 To them it became a natural thing to use their android for almost everything

 It was the same for the people who use iPhone or other devices as I asked the same question .

The problems you have identified in the community

Every person that buys an android only focuses on the price and even if they check the feature’s they
don’t fully utilize most of them .
It is difficult to say what problems may exist in communities of people who use Android devices
without more information.
These problems can range from minor inconveniences to significant issues that can affect the
functionality and security of the device.

 Compatibility problems can arise when certain apps or services are not designed to work with
specific versions of Android, or when they are not optimized for certain hardware
configurations. This can result in the app or service not functioning properly, or not working
all.
23

 Difficulty using the operating system can be a problem for users who are not familiar with
Android, or who have difficulty navigating the interface or accessing certain features. This can
lead to frustration and a poor user experience.
 Security concerns are an ongoing issue for all types of mobile devices, including Android.
Malware and other forms of hacking can pose a serious threat to the security of a device, and
can result in the loss of personal data or other sensitive information.
 Limited availability of certain apps or features can be a problem in certain regions where
access to certain services or content is restricted. This can limit the functionality of the device
and the ability of users to access the information and services they need.
 Fragmentation of the Android ecosystem can lead to inconsistencies in the user experience, as
different manufacturers may use different versions of the operating system and offer different
levels of support and updates. This can result in users having different experiences depending
on the device they are using.
Overall, Android users may face a variety of potential problems, and it is important for individuals
and organizations to be aware of these issues and take steps to address them.

Short -Term Action plan:

 People can use their android more efficiently by knowing more about what their device and
offer

 They can relate to their area of interest and start using the features of an android

 By relating to their area of interest they can relate to the feature and easily get used to the
change in their daily routine

 By doing this they can do things more efficiently and easier and faster.

Long-Term Action plan:

Rather than changing things quickly the android users can make changes one at a time and slowly get
used to the changes. They can use their devices more efficiently by these changes.
The changes they can make are

 Organizing apps and files: Keeping apps and files organized on the device can help users find
what they need quickly and easily. This can involve organizing apps into folders, creating
shortcuts to frequently used apps, and keeping important files and documents in easily
accessible locations.

 Customizing the home screen: The home screen on an Android device is the main interface
that users interact with, and customizing it can make it more efficient and easier to use. This
can involve rearranging app icons and widgets, using custom wallpapers and themes, and
setting up quick access to frequently used features or settings.

 Using gestures and shortcuts: Android devices often include gestures and shortcuts that can
help users perform common tasks more quickly and easily. For example, using two-finger
swipe gestures to quickly switch between apps, or using the "OK Google" voice command to
initiate a search or launch an app.
24

 Managing notifications: Notifications can be an important part of the Android experience, but
they can also be distracting and overwhelming if not managed properly. Users can improve the
efficiency of their devices by customizing the types of notifications they receive, turning off
unnecessary notifications, and organizing notifications into different categories or channels.

 Optimizing battery life: Ensuring that the battery on an Android device lasts as long as
possible can improve the efficiency of the device. This can involve turning off power-hungry
features and apps when they are not in use, using battery-saving modes, and regularly checking
for and installing software updates.

 Using the "do not disturb" mode: This mode allows users to silence incoming calls, messages,
and other notifications, so they can focus on their work or other tasks without being
interrupted.

 Setting up automatic backups: Regularly backing up the data on an Android device can help
users protect their important files and information in case of an accident or hardware failure.
Many Android devices include built-in backup options, or users can install a third-party
backup app to automate the process.

 Customizing the settings and permissions for individual apps: Android devices allow users to
customize the settings and permissions for each app they have installed. This can help users
control how much access each app has to the device's resources, and can improve the overall
efficiency of the device.

 Clearing the cache and other temporary files: Over time, Android devices can accumulate
temporary files and other data that can slow down the device and use up storage space.
Regularly clearing the cache and other temporary files can help improve the performance of
the device.

 Disabling or uninstalling unused apps: Android devices often come pre-installed with a large
number of apps that many users never use. Disabling or uninstalling these unused apps can
free up space and resources on the device, improving its overall efficiency.
25

The scope of the community awareness program conducted includes the following:

 Making people understand the use of an android

 Helping them to know how to utilize the use of an android to their interest
 Explaining the uses provided by the android
 Making them understand how they can use an android flexibly
 Showing them how easy it is to utilize the features of an android
 Showing them what more they can do with an android
 Explaining them about the internet and how they can use it for their needs or interests
 Showing them how efficiently they can work or how fast they can work after utilizing the
options provided by an android
 Explaining what role a android plays in our daily life

Outcomes:

 People can now utilize their time more efficiently and faster
 They can use internet more for their work, family and friends
 They can customize their device to their preference
 They can use more options provided by the device
26

CHAPTER 6 : RECOMMENDATIONS AND CONCLUSIONS OF THE

MINI PROJECT

The people should make a list of all the features they require and search for
their required device of android and after buying an android they should make another list of their
required features and the features they got after buying an android and separate them from the features
they are most likely to use .

After that they should slowly get used to the changes as they start to use the
android daily in their life . They can start with using their android by setting an alarm and slowly
using the phone for their daily usage of making important call or making online transaction or using
the internet for getting information faster.

After doing this project I found different people who use an android for
different uses . Like kids use it to play games and teenagers use it for not only to play games but also
to use social media platforms and use them to communicate with their friends and middle-aged people
use it to communicate with colleagues , family and friends either for work or for personal use and
finally older people mainly use it to communicate with their family and friends make calls or video
calls or to look at the pictures and videos shared to them.

By this information I learned that different people have different uses for the
