1.Helps assess internal and external affecting the community or organization.
2.Provides a framework for strategic planning.
-Community Mapping :
1.Visually represents the community’s assets , resources, and demographics.
2.Helps identify patterns and disparities.
SITUATIONAL
ANALYSIS
-Needs Assessments :
1. Gather information about the community’s needs and priorities through
surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
2. Ensures that organizing efforts address the most issues.

-Windshield and Walking Surveys :


1. These involve physically observing the community , noting things like the
condition of housing , availability of resources, and general atmosphere. This
provides a ground level view of the community.
POWER STRUCTURE
ANALYSIS
Purpose - to identify key decision-makers and power dynamics within the
community.
-to understand who has influence and how decisions are made.

- Social Network Analysis :

2. Reveals patterns of influence and power.

GENDER ANALYSIS
Is a tool to better understand the different social , economic , cultural and political
realities of women and men , girls and boys.

Goals of Gender Analysis


1. Better understand our community (women,men,girls and boys.
2.Get better results from development programs.
3. The goal of gender analysis is to identify and address
gender-based inequalities, promote equity, and ensure
that policies, programs, and interventions effectively meet
the diverse needs of all genders.
ISSUE ANALYSIS

Purpose - to thoroughly understand the root causes of community problems.

1. Visually represents the causes and effects of a problem.

-Root Cause Analysis :
