1 ELECTRICAL

The objective of this part of document is to establish general requirements and

characteristics for all electrical equipment provided on this project ALKABIR/Q
FIELDS DEVELOPMENT PROJECT AT HAMADA-NC7.

The facilities include electrical equipment including all distribution, control and
other related systems, such as lighting, grounding.

1.1 Design of Power System

The design, performance, testing and inspection for equipment covered by this
project will comply with relevant recommendations, established by the
International Electro technical Commission (IEC).

 Standard equipment and extensible.

 Reliable and safe for staff.

 Long service life with minimal maintenance.

 Safety of persons, goods and processes.

 Continuity of service, taking into accounts the internal failures and external
failures.

 Simplicity of operation, whether performed by trained personnel or

automated.

 Flexibility of installation allows great flexibility of operation and the

possibility of future extensions.

1.2 MAIN POWER FROM GOSP

The main source of power supply to the plant will be from 30 kV (OHL POLE)
incoming feeders from the Q-FIELD switchgear.

The use of two 100% rated feeders from the switchgear supply enables the plant
to operate during periods of switchgear and transformer maintenance.

1.3 Power distribution

switchboard feeds 11 / 0.4 kV transformers TRA-002A/B for process loads, utility
loads and local 5.5kV distribution of the Multiphase Pump Skid 1-2.

1.3.2 400V System

The 400V switchboard is supplied by 500KVA 0.4kV rated transformers TRA-

002A/B and by Emergency Diesel Generator and feed LV motors, static loads and
LV auxiliaries. For the switchboard an emergency incomer from above mentioned
Emergency Diesel Generator is foreseen. The 5.5/0.4kV transformers and the
Emergency Diesel Generator star points are grounded on the PE bus bar of the
PMCC.

The 400V switchboard is configured two sections of bus bars (A, B), each with an
incoming circuit breaker, and with interconnecting bus-ties. The incoming from
transformers TRA-002A/B is NC and the incomer from Emergency Diesel
Generator is NO.

In case of loss of normal power (from the two transformers), the two bus ties will
open and the Emergency Diesel Generator will supply the load prioritaire only
(emergency load).
