YEAR 2024-25
STD: IX MARKS: 40
SUB: MATHS – II TIME:2 HR

Instructions:
1. All questions are compulsory.
2. Use proper geometric instruments where required.
3. Write the construction steps wherever necessary.
4. Diagrams must be accurate and neat.

Section A
Choose The Appropriate Answer and Rewrite the Full Statement by Highlighting the Answer. (5 M)

1. How many midpoints does a line segment have?

- (A) Only one - (C) Three
- (B) Two - (D) Many

2. If a transversal intersects two parallel lines, then the sum of the interior angles on the same side of the transversal
is:
- (A) 0° - (C) 180°
- (B) 90° - (D) 360°

3. The sum of the measures of all angles of a triangle is:

- (A) 180° - (C) 360°
- (B) 270° - (D) 450°

4. Which of the following properties is true for the diagonals of a parallelogram?

- (A) They are equal in length. - (C) They are perpendicular.
- (B) They bisect each other. - (D) They are parallel.

5. The measure of each angle in an equilateral triangle is:

- (A) 30° - (C) 60°
- (B) 45° - (D) 90°

Section B
Solve any 6 of the following. (12 M)

1. If the co-ordinate of A is x and that of B is y, find d (A, B) : x = - 3, y = 7

2. In figure, line RP || line MS and line DK is their transversal.

∠DHP = 85°. Find the measure of the angle. ∠RHD

3. In figure, ∠ACD is an exterior angle of ∆ ABC.
∠B = 40°, ∠A = 70°. Find the measure of ∠ACD.

4. Using opposite angle test for parallelogram, prove that every rectangle is a parallelogram.

5. If ∆XYZ ∼ ∆LMN, write the corresponding angles of the two triangles and also write the ratios of corresponding
sides.

6. point p is the mid-point of seg CD. If CP=2.5, find l (CD)

7. The length of hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle is 15. Find the length of median on its hypotenuse.

Section C
Solve any 5 of the following. (15 M)

1. In the given figure, line p || line q and line l and line m are transversals.
Measures of some angles are shown.
Hence find the measures of ∠a, ∠b, ∠c.

2. The measure of one of the angles of a triangle is twice the measure of its smallest angle and the
measure of the other is thrice the measure of the smallest angle. Find the measures of the three angles.

3. In the given figure, sides of ∠PQR and ∠XYZ are parallel to each other.
Prove that, ∠PQR ≅ ∠XYZ.

4. Construct ∆XYZ, in which YZ = 6 cm, XY + XZ = 9cm, ∠XYZ=50°

5. Perimeter of a parallelogram is 150 cm. One of its sides is greater than the other side by 25 cm. Find the
lengths of all sides.

6. If the ratio of measures of two adjacent angles of a parallelogram is 1 : 2, find the measures of all angles
of the parallelogram.

Section D
Solve any 2 of the following. (8 M)

1. In the adjoining figure, □PQRS and □ABCR are two parallelograms.

If ∠P = 110°, then find the measures of all the angles of □ABCR.

2. Construct ∆XYZ, such that YZ = 7.4 cm, ∠XYZ = 45° and XY – XZ = 2.7 cm.

3. Construct ΔPQR, in which ∠Q = 70°, ∠R = 80° and PQ + QR + PR = 9.5 cm.
