Hey,

Anyone do a light heavy box [chest] type routine?

Inner circle
I have some ideas - on using it to get a few children up. Maybe an adult or two
1726 Posts as well.

But I wonder how this sort of effect plays [if anyone does it]

And if any of you do - any ideas of the 'best' version, currently available?

I've never had this prop before. I presume it's reliable. In that a determined
adult/child can't lift it unless I've reset the box/chest?

Thanks for any advice on how it plays, and the best prop to get. I am 100%
thiking of this for a children's / family audience.

By plays. I mean - are the children interested in it? Do you actual still perform
this?

I guess it's about the journey. I think I have a good script idea. And it fits my
Inner circle
new show. But in isolation - is this an effect that gets much of a reaction? I can't
1726 Posts picture whether there is or isn't any wow factor. It sort of feels like the magic
isn't really there. So it will depend on how strong and funny/fun the journey is.
But I could have this wrong... and children are amazed and go crazy for it.

I am coming from a place of complete ignorance on this prop.

Dunphy This is Barry Mitchell's variation on the Light and Heavy Box theme (a few videos
on this page, too):

Have you - or anyone else actually got/use this Light/Heavy Box?

It's a shame that it needs covering up. I guess that's for the method. I don't
really care about method.

1726 Posts There's a light heavy cardboard box by Jay Mattioli that looks really good... but is
$1,000. And looks like you need to take a step ladder everywhere you go.

I might look more into Barry Mitchell's. There is something about it having a
'tray' and a cloth over it - that at the moment makes me think twice. Not even
sure why.

Would love to hear from anyone if they actually have this prop.

Thanks Donald
