What is a Solutions Specification?

A solutions specification is a complete schedule of parts required

to dress a door to meet a certain requirement. Some parts of a door
will be standard across any application but the locking elements
and access control components can greatly vary for a variety of
reasons.

In certain situations you will be required to meet certain standards,

either due to a legal obligation (EN179 or EN1125) or to ensure
a solution will work as expected and give a good service life (IP
and EN performance standards). Other situations require specific
hardware to suit the door they are being fitted to e.g. Gates or Data
Cabinets.

When dealing with these doors there are often many different Standard Internal Applications
manufacturers or suppliers for individual components, making
specification more complicated and time consuming as you check Complete locking and Access control

authorised credential, the SMARTair™ Wall Reader releases the
magnet allowing the door to open.
Operation

The Abloy SMARTair™ Escutcheon will only allow the handle

to operate the lock-case and open the door, when it is shown
an authorised credential. The Euro-Profile cylinder acts as a
mechanical over-ride on the lock-case if needed.

The SMARTair™ Wall Readers provide read-in, read-out

either side of the door. When the correct credential is shown,
the EL520 retracts the bolt allowing the door to be pushed or
pulled open. The double cylinder acts as a mechanical over-
ride.

Operation

The SMARTair™ Wall Readers provide read-in, read-out

functionality so an authorised credential has to be shown on
either side of the door. When the correct credential is shown,
