they are feeling.)
d. Drill
(uses of water)
e. Review

Do you still remember our last lesson? What is it
all about? Sources of water
Very good! So, can anyone tell me what are the
sources of water?
Surface Water
Water that collects on the Earth's surface in
bodies like oceans, lakes, rivers, streams, ponds,
and reservoirs.
Ground Water
Water that is found underground within rocks
and soil, in pore spaces and fractures.

Teacher’s Remarks: This review will lead to an

activity about the current topic.
2. ENGAGE
a. Motivation
Before we proceed into our discussion let us first
have a simple activity. “Weather Train Relay”
Instruction: The first student says what is on
each card, moving from start to finish. When
finished, the next student starts. The fastest
team to finish the relay wins.

b. Unlocking Content Area Vocabulary

Let’s first guess these words which we will
hear from the story based on their given
meaning.
P_GAS_ - a government agency that provides “PAGASA”
weather forecasts, typhoon warnings, and other
meteorological information. “WEATHER”
WE_TH_R- the conditions of the air outside
T_MP_RAT_RE- means how hot or cold “TEMPERATURE”
something is, measured by a thermometer.
ATM_SP_ERE- the layer of air that surrounds “ATMOSPHERE”
the Earth, holding the air we breathe and
protecting us from the sun's harmful rays.

Let’s read the words and their meaning.

Teacher’s Remarks: This activity will lead to the
current topic “Types of Weather”.
3. EXPLORE
a. Group Activity
Setting of standards
Give thoughtful feedback
Respect other and their thoughts
Use soft voice
Participate actively
Stay with your group

Instruction:
Students will rotate through different "weather
stations," each with a fun activity related to
sunny, windy, cloudy, and stormy weather.
Materials:
Cotton balls (for clouds)
Paper fans or handheld fans (for wind)
Flashlight (for the sun)
A container of water and a spray bottle (for rain
and storms)
Crayons, markers, or paper for drawing

Groups will spend about 5 minutes with their

group mates, participating in the activity before
presenting in the front of the class.
Activities:
Sunny Station
Students use a flashlight to shine on objects and
observe shadows.
They can also draw or write about their favorite
sunny-day activity.

Windy Station
Students use paper fans or handheld fans to
blow lightweight objects (cotton balls, tissue
paper) and observe how they move.
They can also pretend to be trees swaying in the
wind.

Cloudy Station
Students stretch and pull apart cotton balls to
create different types of clouds (fluffy for
cumulus, stretched for stratus).
They can sort pictures of cloudy and clear skies.
Stormy Station
Students use a spray bottle to create "rain" and
listen to thunderstorm sounds.
They can make a stormy day drawing with dark
clouds and lightning.
Based on the activity that you have done do you
have an idea of what is our topic today?
That’s right!
4. EXPLAIN
a. Lesson Proper
In our activity, you already learned the behavior
of different weather elements and these elements
bring about different types of weather.
But before that, let us first learn what the
weather is.
What is Weather?
Weather is the daily conditions of the
atmosphere, including temperature, humidity,
wind, and precipitation (like rain or snow), in a
specific place.

Types of Weather
Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy, and Windy days. Yes, Teacher!
Now, I will be showing you some pictures; all
you need to do is describe what you see in the
picture and then when I ask what kind of
weather it is, you will raise your cards.
Is it clear, class?

Okay, Here is the first picture. Can anyone tell

me something about the picture?

The sky is clear

There’s a sun

Very good. All your answers are correct. The sun

shines brightly and the sky is clear. There are
few to no clouds in the sky at all. So what do
you think is the weather?
(the teacher will ask the students to raise their
cards at the count of 3) (the students will raise their cards)
Okay, very good. It's a sunny day. Here is the Sunny day
next picture.

There are many clouds

Very good. As you can see, the sky is covered

with clouds. So what type of weather is that?
Cloudy
Very good. Next picture.

It is raining
The clouds are dark

If there are many dark clouds which bring rain

and the sun is covered by clouds what do you
think is the weather? Rainy
Correct. It's a rainy day. Down to our last
picture.
The air moves the plants strongly.

Okay, If you step outside and feel the air moving

strongly you see things being blown around.
What kind of weather is that? Windy
Very good. It signifies that the air is moving with
noticeable force. This can range from a gentle
breeze to strong guts.
What are the different kinds of weather? Sunny, windy, cloudy, and rainy days
That’s right!
We must know the weather for the day. Our
activities at home, in school, and in the
community may be affected by the condition of
the atmosphere. When the weather is good it is
safe for everyone to go about their daily task.
.
5. ELABORATE
Application
Activity: Weather Forecast
Instructions: Students will present a weather
forecast depending on the weather that they will
receive.
Group 1: Sunny Day (Student will follow)
Group 2: Cloudy Day
Group 3: Rainy Day
Group 4: Windy Day
After 5 mins. students will present in front of the
class.

Generalization
Let us summarize what we have learned today.
What is the weather if the sun is shining
brightly? Sunny day
Good! How about the weather with many
clouds? Cloudy day
Great! How about heavy clouds and rain? Rainy day
Excellent! And what is the weather when there is
strong wind? Windy day
Very good! And remember sunny and cloudy
may be considered good weather.
Bad weather happens when the safety of
everyone is at risk, like during rainy and stormy
weather
