Manual process to update the image via PVS

select the vDisk where you want to update the>right click versions> slect New> then
it will create a new version on the vDisk
then go to the Device collection and slect the master image and go to disk
properties select the type to Maitenanance and select the vDisk tab and add the
particual vDisk then click OK.

Now come to the vCenter and power ON the master image and confirm to that image
running with the respective vDisk, then login to the master image and do the work
like update the patches and install and unistall or updgrade the applications then
reseal the image then shutdown.

Again go to the PVS console select that vDisk and right click version and verify
that running devices should be Zero then promte here will see that opotion test or
Promote you can select the Promote and the latest version Disk will attach to the
all target devices and the changes will be apply next reboot of the vda servers.

PVS Boot process

First the target devices boots and acquires an IP address


The target device first identifies a TFTP server
Next the bootstarp file will be downloaded and the target device will be boot from
it.
The target device will contact and log onto one of the PVS servers.
The logon server will notify the target device about the streaming server.
Target device starts streaming the vDisk from the PVS serve

Two mainly serivces are from the PVS

Citrix PVS Soap server--This service will be use to launch the PVS console.

Citrix PVS Stream service--This service is a feature that streams software from
virtual disk images(vDisks) to target devices.

Port for the PVS server 54321
