Donut cat pattern

Please note: This pattern is for personal use only. Please don't copy, reproduce, alter, translate or

This pattern is written in US English terms and worked in continuous rounds unless stated
otherwise.
Materials needed:

 Sport weight yarn in main colour (MC) and contrasting colour (CC).
 2.5 mm crochet hook.
 Fiber fill stuffing.
 8 mm safety eyes.
 Black embroidery thread.
 Tapestry needle.

Abbreviations:
R - round/ row.
Ch - chain.
St - stitch.
Sc - single crochet.
Inc - increase ( 2sc in same stitch).
Dec - decrease ( sc 2 st together).
Sl st - slip stitch.
[..] - repeat the instructions given in between.
(..) - total number of stitches.

Donut:
With main colour yarn (MC),
Chain 30 and sl st to the first chain to form a ring. Make sure not to twist the loop while joining.

R1: Sc in the first ch and sc in each of the remaining ch (30).

R2: [ Sc in next 2 st, inc, sc in next 2 st ] x 6 (36)

R3: [ Sc in next 5 st, inc ] x 6 (42).

R4: [ Sc in next 3 st, inc, sc in next 3 st ] x 6 (48).

R5: [ Sc in next 7 st, inc ] x 6 (54).

R6: [ Sc in next 4 st, inc, sc in next 4 st ] x 6 (60).

R7: [ Sc in next 9 st, inc ] x 6 (66).

R8 -17: Sc in each st (66).

R18: [ Sc in next 9 st, dec] x 6 (60)

R19: [ Sc in next 4 st, dec, sc in next 4 st ] x 6 (54)

R20: [ Sc in next 7 st, dec) x 6 (48)


R21: [ Sc in next 3 st, dec, sc in next 3 st ] x 6 (42)

R22: [ Sc in next 5 st, dec ] x 6 (36)

R23: [ Sc in next 2 st, dec, sc in next 2 st ] x 6 (30)

Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.


Insert 8 mm safety eyes between R17 and R18 with 9 stitches in between.
Embroider the mouth and whiskers using black embroidery thread.
Sew R1 and R23 together using a whip stitch.
Stuff the donut as you go and close the ends.

Ears (make 2):


With main colour yarn (MC):

R1: 4 sc in magic ring (4). -

R2: [ Sc in next st, inc ] x 2 (6).

R3: [ Sc in next st, inc ] x 3 (9).

R4: [ Sc in next 2 st, inc ] x 3 (12).

R5: [ Sc in next 3 st, inc ] x 3 (15).

Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.


Legs (make 4):
With main colour yarn (MC)

R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).

R2: Sc in each st (6).

R3: [ Sc in next 2 st, inc ] x 2 (8).

Sc through both the layers at the top of the legs to close.


Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Tail:
Start with contrasting colour yarn (CC).

R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).

R2: [ Sc in next st, inc ] x 3 (9).

R3-4: Sc in each st (9).

Switch to Main colour (MC) R5-6: Sc in each st (9).


(Switch to CC) R7-8: Sc in each st (9).
(Switch to MC) R9-10: Sc in each st (9).
(Switch to CC) R11-12: Sc in each st (9).
(Switch to MC) R13-14: Sc in each st (9).
(Switch to CC) R15-16: Sc in each st (9).
(Switch to MC) R17-18: Sc in each st (9).
(Switch to CC) R19-20: Sc in each st (9).
(Switch to MC) R21: Sc in each st (9).
Stuff a little and sc through both the layers to close.
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembling:
Attach the ears 3 rows above the eyes.
Sew forelegs and hind legs.
Take a strand of contrasting colour yarn and make 3 forehead stripes in-between the ears.
Similarly, make 2 stripes in space between the forelegs and hind legs.
Attach the tail at the back.
And your Donut cat is now done!
