The Executive Board of Abu Rashid Islamic Foundation (ARIF) organizes “Inaugural
Tiwi Annual Qur’an Competition (TAQUC) Event” in order to promote Qur’anic
culture, encourage the memorization and recitation of Holy Qur’an in our country and in
the Islamic World.

The Rules, Terms and conditions of the contest are as follows:
1. CONTEST DATES & LOCATION

• The contest Final Round will be held on 23 March 2025 which will fall in the month of
Ramadhan 1446 A.H at Kiweke Grounds, Tiwi Ward in Kwale County.
2. TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
• Competitors can be registered as a students representing a certain Madrassa or as an
Individual.

• Competitors must be aged 10years or younger for 1Juz (30 ), 15years or younger for
3Juzus (28th - 30th), 18years or younger for 5 Juzus (26th - 30th) and 23years or younger
for 10 Juzus (21st - 30th). Participants older than 23years old will not be accepted
• Competitors who have won the first place in any TAQUC Event may not take part
in the same category he/she has won in previous TAQUC contests .
• Competitors may not be already-known reciters in the Islamic World
• Competitors may take part in only one Category.
• Competitors must be residing from the South Coast region, in Kenya of the Madrassa or
family which they represent.
• Participants cannot be Qur’an teachers, organizers, Judges or Imams.
• Competitors who win the first, second and third places will

3. GENERAL RULES
• Competitors are kindly requested to wear the Islamic dress code during the competition.
• Competitors must fill out the application form correctly using a BLUE PEN, in
BLOCK letters and deliver it on time. Late submissions will not be accepted.
• Competitors must deliver duly filled Registration forms with the copies of their birth
certificates, parent/Guardian ID cards and passport size (the passport size should be
taken within the last One month).
• Competitors cannot change the contest category after the submission of the application
form.
• Maximum numbers of the participants from the same Madrassa is TWO and for non
students participants representing the same family, Two or more contestants
cannot participate in the same category.
• Companions are not accepted. If anyone wants to accompany the contestant s/he will
pay her/his own accommodation and travel expenses.
4. APPLICATION PROCESS
• In order to participate in the “Inaugural Tiwi Annual Qur’an Competition
(TAQUC) Event”, competitors must deliver Hard copies or Scanned documents,
approved by the TAQUC Committee under the authority of Executive Board. until 10th
February 2025, Through ;

5. EVALUATION
• Evaluation in all categories of “TAQUC” will be made bythe jury(Judges Panel) under
the topics of hifdh (mem orization), good voice and tajweed.
• TAQUC organizers reserve the right to dismiss, cancel and/or disqualify any
participant without liability at any time, with immediate effect; this includes,
but is not limited to; any participant who tampers with the operation of the
competition or competition site or violates the terms and conditions, or any
other applicable laws and regulations
• The Tajweed of the participants within the category group will be considered
only as a tie breaker.
• Participants have NO right to object, reject, or decline the judges’ ruling;
Judges’ ruling will be final, but if participants have any concern they should
address it with the organizers(ARIF).

Important Notice: The Jury may make preselection (Preliminary Round) depending
on the number of participants registered. This fact should be taken into
consideration when selecting the contestants.
