Fossils 1

Fossils are the remains of ancient plants and animals, formed when their remains are buried and turned to stone. There are two main types of fossils: body fossils, which are physical remains like bones, and trace fossils, which provide indirect evidence of past life, such as footprints. Scientists study fossils to learn about extinct species and their behaviors, diets, and appearances.
