Course Name: Probability Random Processes
Course Code: MA-202
Q.1 a) Three manufacturing plants M1, M2 and M3 are produce electricity relay for a company. On a
certain day, M1 has produced 50% of the total production, M2 has produced 30% of the total
production and M3 has produced 20% of the total production. Suppose 2% of the relay produced
by M1 are defective, 5% of the relay produced by M2 are defective and 1% of the relay produced
by M3 are defective.

(i) If a relay is selected at random from the output of the company, what is the probability
that it is defective?

(ii) If a relay selected at random is found to be defective, what is the probability that it was
manufactured by plant M2?
b) A bag contain 40 ticket numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, …, 40 of which four are drawn at random and
arranged in ascending order(n1 < n2 < n3 < n4 ). Find the probability of n3 = 25.

Q.2 a) Let A and B be two events in the sample space S. Suppose we know
